5 Pound Beat Down....C25K daily support thread
Morning! Everyone got a workout planned for the weekend or do you take weekends off?
I noticed several of you had different downloads and methods for your C25k notifications....what are some of the features of yours that you like? Dislike?
I love that the voice comes in and tells me to "start your 60 second walk now" . I have another program running on my Droid at the same time that records the workout (C25K free download) It just rings a bell each time I should start/stop the next cycle....took me a while to figure out that the bell was a different program. I don't care for it as much, but it actually records my date/time, etc so I will continue to run it.
For those who are further along than others, any advice or suggestions of things you have leaqrned thus far?

I'm heading out it a little while to do my run. I love running on the weekends, cause it's the only runs I can do without kids and/or dog involved. LOL. It's my "me time".
I just started running with the Nike+ GPS app so it'll track my pace/time/route which is nice. I find it much easier to use than the old Nike+ sensor. So I usually have both apps running and play my own music list. I love the "you are half way done" voice! LOL.
When I first did the whole program, I ran the same route every time. I knew exactly what was my half way point (the bench at the corner turn in the park) and it was so fun watching that bench get farther and farther behind when I heard that "half way done" voice! It helped give me a visual way to "see" I was doing better.

Hi Pup! Sorry it took so long to get back to you. We surprised the girls with a day of kite flying at the beach. LOL.
The Nike+GPS ($1.99 on Itunes) IS different than the plain Nike+. You can use it with the Ipod touch (I have the newest version, so not sure about the older ones.) The only thing I hated about the Nike+ was that the sensor kept dropping runs, or parts of runs and I finally just ditched the whole thing! The GPS doesn't seem exactly accurate unless you have the phone, but it's close enough for government work!

I am on week 7 of the c25k app- I like that it plays my own music in the background-tells me when to run and walk and gives me a 1/2 way notice. I am doing the training with my 10 yr old son and the best advice I can give you is to NOT look at the timer along the way just tell yourself you can keep running and do it!
