Is there such a thing as noodles with protein?

Shirataki noodles made of tofu. hungry girl loves them according to my wife. Not sure if the texture is going to work at early stage though.

Are you talking about Shirataki noodles?  They are soy noodles that are in the produce section along with other refrigerated soy products.  They are $2 for a 2 serving package.

Hungry Girl uses them in her recipes.....  They are pretty good....

Barilla Plus has protien.  I love their pasta. For me it tastes WAY better than wheat pasta.

All of the Barilla Plus pasta has 10g of protein in each serving.

Shirataki noodles are good on protein and very low in calories/carbs BUT are, IMO, disgusting. You have to rinse them really well and add some kick-butt flavor to cover up the icky fish smell/taste. If I was gonna think of pasta, Barilla plus may be a more palatable option if you add some sort of protein (meat, chicken, cheese) to make it worth your chewing.

I think barilla is more what I'm thinking. I tried shiritaki noodles and thought they were disgusting.

And thanks for the concern. I am doing better now. Still can't eat much besides yogurt and applesauce but I am not throwing up this week!

Katie -
Just saw your post and if you don't mind me asking, why can't you eat more that yogart and applesauce?  I ask b/c i had RNY on 4/6 and I couldn't progress in the soft food dept either - FINALLY had an endoscopy done this past wednesday and it showed that I had a pretty nasty stricture.  I gues the opening to our pouch should be around 15mm and mine was only 3mm.  I was dalited to 12mm and will probably have to go back again, but now it is continue on liquids try a little soft ultra slow - good for the weight loss, but frustrating none the less, just wanted you to know you weren't alone.

I had a similar problem. I had a stricture pretty early out and it's been dilated four times. I can eat soft food if I really want but it makes my pouch grouchy so I am going really slow. Anytime I have something that is more ambitious than cheese I have issues. I guess it is just taking longer for me. It is nice to know that there are others who are going through something similar.
