OT: Just for fun... if you could buy any car you wanted (under $50k!), what would it be?

This is my ultimate dream car...1969 Camaro Z28. I WILL own one.

But for a new car, I'll take one of these Lexus IS 350 C hard top convertibles.

I would get a Blue Volvo SUV. Must have 4x4 or All wheel drive. I live in MI and can't stand driving in the snow w/o it.

Laura, 102k isn't bad however I have a 1998 blazer that has just over 70k miles on it so think I'm going to keep it for a while. Also like someone else said if they had the money they'd go for Plastic Surgery. That's exactly what I did. I was looking at getting  new car just because then Plastics popped up and I'd rather pay my mom back that money than pay on a new car. Very good decision.

I would love a VW Jetta, but it has an "interferance engine" or something like that.  So, there are parts that are more difficult to replace than others.  If you are concerned about longevity of a car, I've been told, get one with a "noninterferance engine".  I wish I knew more about this, but I've been told it by more than one of my mechanic friends.

Another option I'd buy is a Nissan Maxima.

Honda and Toyota both have noninterferance engines.  Oh, and I think it has to do with the timing belt???  Anyway...

I have to say I own a 2004 Prius and I would love, love, love to be able to buy a 2011 Prius fully loaded with leather not cloth upholstery because I like a lot of the features they have added since I bought mine and I am not wild about cloth interior.  But mine is paid off and I do not have any issues, mechanical or otherwise, so I will keep what I have with no payments for now.  Good luck in your search!
