The Stall Does End!!
It had been a while since the scale had moved. Everyone I asked said the same thing - that around the 6-8 month mark post-op there was a stall - a major one. They all told me time after time after time that it would break and the weight would start to fall off again. At some point during the major stall, I wrote that advice off and resigned myself to never losing another pound. Yesterday, I got on the scale and 6 pounds down!! 6 MORE POUNDS!! The scale is moving - hurray!!
For everyone who's in the big six month stall and thinks it will never end - it will. I'm so happy to be on the downslide of this horrid stall..

Thanks for sharing your story. Yep, I fell ya. I haven't lost 1 lb in 3 weeks. And yes, I'm 6 months post op. Actually, I've gained 2 lbs. How is that even possible? Did this ever happen to you? The only thing I can think of is that I've started to eat a little bit of fruit and fat (olive oil). I honestly don't know what caused the gain. Maybe I'm just eating too much.
I was frustrated to the point of nearly pulling out my remaining hair.. LOL
Around 6 months and 2 weeks, the scale stopped moving entirely. I fluctuated by around 3 pounds up and down, up and down for over a month. Then all of a sudden as I hit the 8 month mark - the scale moved! I thought I was overeating, thought I must be eating the wrong foods, wrong combination, not exercising enough, exercising too much, maybe losing fat but gaining muscle - anything I could think of! But in the end - the weight has started coming off again. It will move again.

Hi! Thanks for sharing. I only lost 5 pounds last month and only 1 in the last 2 weeks. I'll be at 6 months in 4 days. I've thought of all the things you have. I am eating fruit every day but I am very strict about how many calories I eat ( 1,100 - 1200). I eat betwen 85 - 100 proteins every day and drink about 85 - 100 oz. of fluids. Since I am 60 years old, I know my metabolism is slower. I've lost 61 since surgery so that is not huge. (I lost 70 before the surgery 10 years ago.) I am frustrated but everyone says that the scale will start moving again. I just hope it won't take another whole month. But this is a life choice not a diet.
I am reassured by posts like yours re:stalls so thanks for sharing that. About the hair loss.... I am FREAKING OUT!! Is that slowing down/regrowing? I have read all the posts I can find so I know hair loss and stalls happen to mostly everyone. Please tell me that's getting better too!!
Congrats on your wonderful success so far!

Thank you! And yes, my hair loss is slowing down. At the worst, I would run my fingers through my long hair and get GOBS of hair. Literally 30-40 strands at a time, sometimes in bigger chunks from the same place. *gasp*
At this point, I get a few strands from touching my hair and it still comes out a bit in the shower and such but nothing like it was. It's slowing down and making me feel like maybe, just maybe, the end is in sight. Pretty sure it won't all fall out and frankly, I'd rather be trying on clothes that fit at Express & The Limited etc than having a thick full head of hair!
