Sweet things are so icky now

Protein shakes and protein bars are so icky and sweet. I've tried everything in this world. All kinds of protein shakes and different fruity ones too. I hate them all. How can I get my protein in in a savory way? I am not getting protein in enough.

I don't drink protein shakes either, I do greek yogurt, a LOT of cheese, edamame beans,  a LOT of beef jerky, lunch meat, steak tips, refired beans.. ect I seem to be able to get in 65 a day and be under 800 caloires but that means almost everything I eat has to be protein.  But it's better than the nasty shakes!

I have the same response to sweet. Boy, that is a big change for my taste buds! I buy unflavored protein powder and add it to cream soups, instant potato soup, etc. I also use lots of greek yogurt and hard boiled eggs. Fish is an excellent source of protein, so that is a good choice too.

I ended up really watering it down. I used a 4 cup drinking bottle. 1 cup non-fat milk, vanilla protein powder, some cinnamon, 2 1/2 cups water, ice to the top and shake well.

Watch out though. I was a die hard chocolateholic before and for 4 months after surgery, the thought of chocolate made me sick. That has passed and I'm love chocolate again. So tastes change.

Good luck.

I only try to get 1 - 2 protein drinks a week because they are yucky.  I get my protein from food, mainly fish, chicken, cheese and beans.

My sweet tooth completely went away. I eat lots of cottage cheese, eggbeaters, cheese, tofu, edamame, yogurt, veggie burgers and black beans for protein.

I do a protein smoothie every morning, with kefir, unflavored protein powder and half a banana. It's a little sweet, but tart from the kefir.

I second the greek yogurt idea. If you can get a cup down, it's 23g of protein! (at least for the Fage in the 17oz containers...). I also have Unjury chicken soup, which has 20g protein per serving. I drink lactose-free milk which as 8g protein per cup. Worst case, hold your nose as you try to get the shake down....
I've given away so much protein powder b/c various things just are too sweet for me... Still holding on to a few in the hopes another month will prove me wrong.

Unjury makes a Protein Chicken Broth that is divine!  It's a nice change of pace from the cold, sweet shakes and has the same amount of protein (20 or 25 grams I believe).  I still use it all the time!  www.unjury.com.  The also make the best unflavored protein powder IMO.  I add this to soups, chili, casseroles, anything really. Good luck! :)

I have found it is pretty tasteless and easy to add to food to increase the protein.  You could try adding it to things like meatloaf, soups and oatmeal.
