NO Energy...I'm exhausted.
As of today, I'm 2 weeks post-op and this is my first day back to work. Everything seems to be going great, except for my energy levels. My doctor says this could get worse before it gets better. What did any of you do to increase this or is it just a wait til I'm able to eat issue? Honestly, taking a shower and getting dressed wears me out. I want to start exercising but don't see that happening til the energy level picks up. Any thoughts or ideas?

Your only two weeks out, Feeling tired and exhausted at this point is pretty normal. Yes, part of it is the food levels, the other part is the fact your still recovering from major surgery. the most "exercise" you should be doing for the first month and a half to two months is walking, so don't worry about the exercise thing.

I'm agreeing with the liquids & protein focus - it's really important for healing! Even try to get higher than you think you need. TIME & patience - you just went thru a major surgery! I'm over 3 weeks and not even thinking about exercise yet. Just trying to get thru the work day is enough.

I'm going to wait on even trying to walk in the mornings. I did good today to walk from my car to my desk. I need an energy pill! LOL Actually doing alot better on my protein and water at work than I did at home so maybe coming back will help me. Not to mention, a sane person can only watch so much daytime TV. OMG!

Are you getting in all your vitamins? For some reason, my stupid self completely forgot B12 when I got my vitamins. At about week two I realized the mistake and got some. I felt alot better pretty much right away. I'm almost 6 weeks out and I just started really exercising and I'm feeling pretty normal now.
Having said all that, I got laid off right before surgery so I'm not on a strict schedule.
Good luck! It will get better.
