Roll call: those done losing but NOT in a single-digit size (re-post)
I know you stated that those in the single-digit sizes need not reply, but I feel compelled to post here. For me, it was never about the weight loss - that was a bonus. I had my RNY because I was a brittle diabetic taking 400 units of insulin daily, an average of 12 injections a day. Even on that amount of insulin my blood sugar levels were running in the 500-700 range. Pile on to that the sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a myriad of other medical problems, I had been told I had between 3-5 years to live.
I have lost nearly 100 pounds and am no longer on any medications other than supplements. My life expectancy has increased exponentially and I feel better now than I did in my 20's, and that has been several decades ago.
Height: 5'1"
Current weight: 118
BMI: 22.3
For me, the success was getting off the medications. I would have been happy to just get my blood sugars under control and only have to use half the meds I was on. My only regret is that I didn't have this done sooner. So I agree with you, success cannot be measured by size alone.

I am so glad you have found the non-numbered success that you were looking for... because (IMO) that should be what we're all after.... well, I think we would all be much more CONTENT, anyway, if that's what we were primarily after.
(Thanks, by the way, for your sensitivity in only posting your stats other than your clothing size!)

Highest weight I seen on scale 293 but I may have been over 300 and never weighed!
day of surgery 276......lost slowly cause I am not a protein drink addict or exercise guru...lol...that is my laziness but I am compliant on labs, tests, vitamins, etc.
I stalled at 176 for over a year, then decided to paint 85% of my new 2 story home in colors since moving to GA and lost another 5 pounds in a week last spring....stayed there til I was approved for panniculectomy in February this year and for fear and nervousness of my unbelief that a DR. could actually cut this ass off in front of me that I been carrying sooooooo damn long!...lol
I lost my appetite pre-surgery and dropped 5 more pounds
post panniculectomy I lost another 15 pounds and ended up at about 148........as I healed and returned to normal eating I am now 160........I would like to be 140's or 150's but at 160 I can wear a comfortable 8 or 10 but I did fit in a pair of $100+ INC linen pants from Macy's in a size 4 (didn't buy them) but I was tempted...and at another good store called CACHE I tried on a pair of $98 jeans and was rocking them in the dressing room in a comfy 6......didn't buy them either....gotta put kids first...3 graduating next week!
BUT......my B-day is in July and I will be a fine ass *40* which is my new *20's* so I plan on treating myself to a first-time facial, get a mani and pedi, my make-up did, take a couple of pics to commemorate the new life, add a new outfit in the smallest number I can find and then eat my way out of it at a good steak house...lol

Not only am I not a single digit size, I am not a onderland recipient either and I am finally okay with that. I'll be two years out this Sunday and I started out at 360 (not my heaviest).
Starting size was 28 or 30 and 4-5XL tops.
Now wear 12-16 and L or XL tops.
I fluctuate between 204 and 210 pounds, my lowest weight was 202.
BUT, I no longer have diabetes, high blood pressure, and my cholesterol went from 299 to 140. Not to mention I can walk/jog for miles and miles and before I couldn't walk to the end of my driveway. So, I say SUCCESS!

I started at 250 pounds in 2x/3x pants and tops.
I am now down to 133 pounds 14 months out. I flucuate between 133 and 140 depending on the time of month.
What I am most happy about is not needing blood pressure meds anymore. I was taking 5 pills a day and it was not controlling it at all. My kidney functions are back to normal, I can walk, ride a bike and play with my hubby and our dog. I feel so much better and that is what counts to me.

This is me! I am slowly coming to terms with this. Slooowly. I actually was the fool who wouldn't have been cool with getting down to Size 16 pre-op. I wanted to experience actual skinniness. Oh well, God had other plans. I still feel like a success; I feel healthy and free!
Surgery date: April 13, 2009 - a little over 2 years out
Highest that I'm aware of: 338
Surgery weight: 304
Pre-surgery size: Lane Bryant 22/24 on top, 26/28 on bottom - and prettty much everything was from "LB"
Current weight - this morning: 179
Current size(s):
Tops - I wear shirts ranging from XS to L depending on the store, but usually safe in an M - this is my only claim on single-digit-ism;
Skirts - Between 12 and 16 depending on the store/designer
Dresses - Usually a 10 or 12 so it's big enough for the bottom but not insanely big for the top - must put Spanx on the large spare tire that sometimes requires 14/16 skirts . . .

Having RNY was probably the best thing I've ever done for myself.
Approx highest weight: ~350. Highest measured weight: 338. Surgery weight: 297. Lowest weight (for 5 minutes): 169. Current weight: 209. Goal weight: ??? - maybe 180-185, which was my maintenance weight before the regain.
"I wanted to experience actual skinniness."
Yeah, me, too. And, yes, coming to terms with the body God gave me has been a very SLOW process. It is nice to know I am not the only one who struggles with it, though.
