Attended an EXCELLENT bariatric nutrition seminar with Dr. Jacques of Bariatric Advantage...
The Good news: there is such a thing as being big boned
The Bad news: If you are it's prolly cuz you're fat (I use the "f" word...so shoot me...)
This is the basis for my advice to "make your goal weight realistic". If you have been carrying around 100+ extra pounds for YEARS, your skeleton is going to weigh more than someone who has not. So to look at your best friend, who is the same height as you but has never had a weight problem, and expect to weigh what she weighs is UNREALISTIC. You will have to work SO HARD to get there and stay there and maybe it's not even possible....do you REALLY want to live the rest of your life struggling, dieting, doing REAL damage to your body to maintain an unrealistic goal weight?
Yes, my "comfort zone" of weight is right on the normal/overweight borderline; but I look good, I FEEL good, my health couldn't be better, I can eat LIKE A NORMAL PERSON (only less) and it's pretty easy to stay here.
MAKE YOUR GOAL WEIGHT REALISTIC AND IT WILL HELP YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL!

I'm curious, did she give examples of nutrient dense food? I'm probably on the holy Grail quest for the perfect foods that I'll actually like..... It'd be lovely to have a concise list to reference...
