Mine was green when I was having gallbladder troubles. Not saying that's what yours is but that's about all I know - sorry.

I had some lower back pain but once I really started working on strengthening my core and purposely working my back it improved IMMENSELY.

Be happy.

Constipation - been there way more than I want to remember.  Recently I switched to Vitalady's calcium citrate with vitamin D and magnesium and my BMs have been regular, everyday in the morning.  At first I thought I had something going on because it was so abnormal for me but it has to be what is going on as it continues still daily.  http://www.vitalady.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&k ey=1220X240#.  I will continue on this calcium as it has been such a relief (no pun intended) to go to the restroom regularly.

I experienced back pains early out from surgery, what I found is once my weight stabilized then it went away.  Your skeletal system has to learn to carry the new you.

I have a question.....

I seem to be one of the rare people who early out feel hunger/empty pouch.  I also feel fullness.  I eat pretty small amounts (1/4 cup) but eat (or drink a protein shake) every 2-3 hrs.  I hit my protein and fluids well each day and am doing well otherwise (exercising, etc).  My question is: when I am able to eat a larger amount will I experience hunger at longer intervals?  I am concerned about long term maintenance and eating this often.  I spoke with my surgeon about my feeling hunger AND fullness and he thought this was a good thing.  It surprised me as many on OH say they experienced no hunger for many months.  I guess my question is: does food maintain you for longer amounts of time as you are able to eat more?

Thanks!

I like to think of our pouches like baby stomachs. Do you have kids? When they were babies they had formula and it didn't take much to fill them up but they were hungry every 2-3 hours. Then, blessed be the day when you could start to give them cereal! It held them for longer which enabled fun and exciting activities like...uninterrupted sleep!

Then they got to solids and that held them even longer. Almost too long because toddlers seriously don't eat that much (which is why we make such a big deal of those who do).

Think of the pouch that same way. You take in liquid and soft nutrition that is easy to pass through our systems. It's good stuff that's in a format that our body can break down easily. So you get hungry more often. When you can integrate more fiber and whole grains into your food plan, I believe you'll feel longer lasting satiety. I know I can easily go 5 hours between meals if my mind is engaged.

You already know that you are in the minority, of course, who WANT/NEED to stop losing before they do... (and, yes, sometimes some of us are jealous, LOL)

Most people's bodies stop when they hit a healthy weight (which will vary from person to person)... and that some of us (like Nik and Pam and I, etc.) stop losing before we quite get to the weight we had hoped to be.

See...I never really knew where I hoped I'd end up or what was realistic. If I have any criticism of my surgical staff, it's that I don't feel like I got the tools at support group or elsewhere that I needed to grasp that.

After I was about two years out my NUT broke down the math to me but until then I had no idea. And never having been a normal weight I had no grasp of where I should be. I think if I had known that earlier on I could have been more at peace with things.

As it stands now...I am actually in a much better place. It may sound like a cop out but I'm actually glad for my curves. Much of my identity has always been tied up in being just a bit thicker than other women. Once I stopped drinking the Kool-Aid and acknowledged that, I think life changed for me a lot.

Okay, this is more of an "in your experience" thing...

I know everyones body will stop when it's ready and that we all lose at a different pace and we all lose a different amount but...

How realistic is it to expect to lose 150lbs after having RNY?

I would love to be under 200lbs, but when I spoke with my surgeon he said that while he expects me to lose at least 100 lbs, 150 would be a stretch. But, since I've already lost close to 80lbs in 4 months I'm not seeing why I wouldn't get to Onderland by 1 year post op. What am I missing?

It just frustrates me to think that if I don't crack 200 lbs with my height I would still be "obese" and I didn't have this life altering surgery to stay there, ya know?
