I can now put stuff on my scar to hopefully minimize it. Just wanted to get some opinion on what works. i've heard vitamin e oil and also cortizon cream.

I've been using Mederma scar gel. I don't know if any of them really works and I think, for the most part, they just keep the scars moist but I really like the Mederma. My scars are already totally healed, tiny, and are starting to fade quickly.

Maderma has worked for me on other scars. Also vitamin E cream works fine. I have never used the gel capsuls, but some people have told me that works well... they break open the gel capsul and rub it on the scar.

Try a little experiment (I did this with my giant panniculectomy scar)...  put some vitamin E oil on one incision, put some Mederma on another, put whatever else you are inclined to try on a third and then leave the rest alone (just normal moisturizer if needed).  You will almost certainly find that, in 6 months, they all look completely identical (and you wasted money (and time) on the creams/oil/etc.)  That's what my PS told me and he was right.  If anything, the section of skin that I put NOTHING on actually looked a little better than the other sections (including the section that I sued a pricey silicon strip on).
