Not able to increase the time between my meals. Still at 2-4 hours

Is this normal or rather, have any of you experienced this?I had  RNY with silastic band.  That goofy extra band DOES help me to not overeat but because of that I get less in on my 30 minute lunch than most of you more than likely.  I still have to eat every 2-4 hours depending on what it was I ate before.  Now my sister in law that is only one month behind me has been able to increase to normal meal times now. She only has to eat 3x a day with a snack  in between of nuts or a protein bar sometimes.  Is this a cause for concern or is my tool just doing its job??

I am more than two years out.  I eat six meals a day, most days, or else I'd never get enough calories and protein.  And I do not have the silastic band.  So you just sounds normal to me.

I eat very frequently too.... during work, I have a snack bar....then a protein shake,  then a snack bar, then a protein shake..... three shakes, three bars, then I go home, and I have a couple more slightly more substantial meals. That averages about 1100 calories.

Thanks! I was worried about starting my externship (going for my medical assisting degree and all i need now is externship completed) I know jamming in protein bars and shakes all the time isn't what they 'want' us to do but I take it whatever gets you through the day in a healthy way eh? Looks like I'll be spending a bit of $ on protein powder!

Well if you are super busy, you might try what I do, which works for me in my busy no-frigerator teaching...

I invested in 8 oz disposable cups, disposable spoons, and 20 oz arrowhead sports bottles with water in..... I drink off the top few ounces of water, then half fill a cup with water. Add a scoop of protein powder (Matrix Orange and Cream is my go-to-fave 110 calories)....and mix it up with the spoon....then pour it back in the water bottle, add an orange crystal light, put the lid on, shake....sip from the sport lid.

I usually add more water/proteinpowder/crystal light to the same bottle throughout the day.

It's kind of boring, but it gets me through. I have to drink to teach, and since I have to wait 30 minutes after eating to drink, I sometimes don't get my snack bars in..... I have one whenever I know I have a thirty minute window before I need to leccture again.

It works for me.

My plan still calls for 4-5 Meals and 2 protein drinks a day.  So I am eating or drinking all day.  Works for me.

I would ask your surgeon about it to be sure, but from the standpoint of weight loss (or regain down the road), I would not worry about it.  Like quite a few others here, I still eat 6 or 7 times per day... three larger meals and 3-4 protein-heavy snacks... and I lost 185 pounds and am pretty well maintaining my weight at coming up on 4 years.
