I tried the french vanilla and they are disgusting. I tried the gel caps and I can't get them down. It's between berry and orange. Are either palatable? Which is better?

I don't even bother taking any bariatric vitamins because all of them taste like crap IMHO and I have such a hectic life that I can barely remember taking vitamins once a day!

I went to Vitamin Shoppe and bought Twinlabs One-a-Day capsules along with some sublingual B12.  The vitamins exceed the US RDA for most categories by at least 200%.  My surgeon said that as long as I take my vitamins 1X a day, my body will eventually build up stores of these vitamins and minerals and the daily amounts I'm ingesting will more than make up for the malabsorption.

In all honesty, I think that most of these vitamin and bariatric food companies engage in swift marketing and play into the fears of people.

I tried bariatric advantage vitamins for a while and made me nauseous. No matter what flavor I tried the result was the same. I switched to vita4life and they worked great for me. Have been a user of vita4life gastric bypass vitamins for over three years now and have no complaints. My labs also look great.

The brands like BA, Centrum, Flintstones rely on marketing gimmick and push products that do not promote health. Do your bit of the research and see the side effects of vitamins from these brands.

I have no problem with the oragne flavor, or any of the others since the rep told me to dissolve them in mouth rather than chewing them..  I will admit that I don't particularly care for the Strawberry Probiotic, but it is doable.

I tried a bunch of the Celebrate samples and kinda like their berry and orange was ok. Would you want my Bariatric Advantage mixed berry crystals? It's the kind you dissolve in water.  I bought a big container and found it was WAY too sweet for me.
I'll be out & about tomorrow - first day since surgery! I go see my dr in Baltimore for follow up. PM me if you'd want my vitamins, b/c I don't think I'll be keeping them....

My doctor's nurse told us to just buy the Flintstones chewables. I can't stand the taste of them but I loved them as a child.  Now my grandson eats one every time he comes over.

Your doctor seriously recommended Flinstone's vitamins post-op? Yikes!

Unfortunately, some docs do, despite the ASMBS warning against them.

Oh I see.  My surgeon would have my head if I told him I was taking FLINSTONES vitamins.  I guess all docs are different and apparently some don't care so much about adequate/sufficient vitamin supplements with WLS.  It's a shame, really.  The patients ultimately will suffer unfortunately. SMH

I can only assume that some surgeons don't bother to read the labels so they don't really know what they are recommending.  It is a shame and of course the patients are the ones that will suffer.
