I am just having so any issues eating slowly. I feel like I have come to the point where I know what to eat and what not to eat but I throw so much up just because I have a problem eating slow! I never realized how fast I eat! It's like the food is going to disappear if I don't eat it immediately!! Any suggestions on how to eat slower? I want to make this work!!

I have not had issues with vomitting, but I too am a very quick eater. I have had to really focus on slowing down, but eating slow seems soooooooooo foreign to me. It seems that especially with the very small amount of food I eat I should be done much quicker!

This is what I've been told can help you eat more slowly.  Pay attention to the food - be present in the moment and don't be watching TV.  Each spoonful need a minimum of 26 chews - you can say the alphabet in your head while chewing.   Lay your utensil down after each bite.

Good Luck

I had to use baby spoons at first to get myself to slow down. >_

I've heard the alphabet thing too. I just make sure to keep a clock near me. I look to see what time I took the bite, then wait for 2-3 minutes before I take another bite. I haven't vomitted since I started doing that.

Make each bite half the size of normal

Recite the alphabet song ... one letter per chew, and swallow after ZEE

i use the little ****tail silverware i got from my local world market...what i have found which helps me is..hubby got me a word search to work on while in hospitl stay and we had motel stay after and before surger...so now i have this and i take a bit, go look for a word or try to....sometimes i find 2 words, then take another bite..i know they say not to have the tv on and such..but this helps me to work on the word search while chewing and taking my time...
give it try
have a great day
