Swimming after 4 weeks

 I was cleared to take baths and I really feel like swimming in my apartent complex pool. Any thoughts about that on whether it is too early for that or not?

My paperwork said six weeks for swimmimg. I wanna go too!!!

Just wondering if your feeling any better?

I do aqua aerobics for my primary excersise. I go about 3 times a week. My surgeon said I could go after 2 weeks and my insicion scabbed over. But the water irritated it. My regular doc told me to use a little bacitration and a water proof band aid just while in the water. When I get out he suggested I shower and lightly scrub it with a soapy cloth. No problems after that. Been swimming for 3 weeks now. Good luck Michelle BTW I had laporscopic. If you had open it will be different.

Got cleared at my 1 month check up by the doctor . I would ask first though before you head in. I went swimming for the first time yesterday it was about 90 here in S. Cali

If any of your incisions are anything but SKIN (if they are not 100% healed) then NO.... don't do it.

It's a public swimming pool and filled with yuckies. Seriously. I went swimming in our PRIVATE swimming pool, well maintained, and I had six weeks worth of wound infections after that!
