I had two procedures in the last three days where I needed Anthia. And now My muscleshurt alllllllllllll over. Could it be the anesthesia? I'm also on my period for the first time in over a year because of PCOS and maybe that could be the reason? Any thoughts?

I was experiencing a lot of muscle pain, too ... especially in my legs and knees.  My surgeon ordered some blood work and found that my Vitamin D levels were extremely low (result of the malabsorption).  They told me to take 1,000 IU of Vitamin D (pills) daily and I feel so much better now!

You may want to mention it to your doc ... have them check your Vitamin D levels!  It really made a difference for me!

It's going to take a lot more then 1,000 IU of Vitamin D to get your levels up if they are that low.  That wouldn't even maintain a normal person with low D.

This is the best kind for us because it is dry and it is a high enough dose.  What is your D level.  Depending on how low it is you may need to take one daily until you bring your levels up to at least 80.  I am trying to keep my levels between 80 and 100.
After your get over 80 you can cut back to every 2 or 3 days.

1,000 IU seems to be working just fine for me.

What were your levels at and what are they now?  Mine got so low at one point they were barely detectable.  It has taken several years to get them up to where they are now, 72.
Also, it has to be the dry form.  The ones that come in oil capsules we can't absorb because of our malabsorption.

My numbers were between 20-22.  I'm taking the oil caps, but I chew them like a gummy because I have a phobia about swalling pills (have had this phobia since I was 10 years old).  I've really noticed a difference just in the few days I've been taking them.  When the doctor rechecks my levels, I'll know better whether they're really working for me.

I would consider, if you do not have a very solid inccrease (as in double your original levels) when you are re-checked.... then you should consider going to the far more bioavailable Dry D3... which is very inexpensive and better metabolized.

My levels actually rise very quick when I supplement. Right now I take 5,000 whatevers.... forgot the measure and my levels are good. If I stop taking them, even for a month, my levels absolutely tank. I even have hubby taking them.

You have been throwing up for days..... that takes a LOT of muscles

You never felt the sheer muscle exhaustion until you stopped doing it

Also, I'm pretty sure you were under conscious sedation in both procedures,(Versed and Fentanyl) which isn't quite the same as general aneasthesia..... this means you moved under your own power the whole time and did not have to be picked up.

I just had surgery Friday and my muscles hurt all over, too.  It may be the way I was on the operating table.  I woke up this morning and I felt like I had been hit by a truck.
