I want a cookie.

I can normally eat just a very small amount of the HD Strawberry ice cream and be satisfied... which is why the pint was in the freezer in the first place...  it's just disappointing to find that the eat-for-comfort demon popped up so quickly (and is sticking around).

I have to admit that at one year out the demons are as near as they were one year ago and cookies are one of their favorite foods.

A couple of weeks ago I wanted some cookies so I purchased some SF cookies and had a few; they didn't taste as good as they used to and didn't hit the spot as I expected they would. Perhaps those demons are losing their power over me?

If you are craving ice cream, try this - 8 ounces of milk, 5 ice cubes, 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder, 2 tablespoons of sf chocolate syrup, 2 tablespoons of sf chocolate pudding powder, 1 banana = sliced

Put all in the blender and mix for approximately 30-45 seconds until the ice cubes are gone.  Tastes like a chocolate milk shake.

Sounds good.  Wish I had some SF chocolate syrup!  So far this morning, I haven't had an urge to eat anything I know I will regret (but it's still early, LOL)... so I am hoping that the worst of this little episode has passed.

How are you feeling these days, BTW?  Healed/healing up?

Sorry I didn't get back to you for so long but I don't get online very often these days.  I am doing okay, still healing and having pain but it is better. Yestarday was the first day that I didn't have to pack the wound opening.  It is really tiny and started having trouble getting the packing in.  Surgeon had told me the week before to put less and less in until it wouldn't go in anymore, so it would close on its own.  I am so thankful that I don't have to do it anymore.  I still have to dress it daily because it still drains a little but very little.  I think within the next week it will be totally closed, I hope!!!!!!!!!!  As far as the pain goes, I am still on Dilaudid but I am down to 4mg and only taking it 3 times per day.  My pain management doctor said he will be happy if I can get down to 2 mg 3 - 4 times per day for maintainance.  My goal is to get back to percocet like I was on before to go along with my duragesic patch.  I don't want to be on Dilaudid forever.

How are you doing these days?  Last I remember you were talking about going for a second opinion  - did you ever go for one?  IF so, how did it go?  I hope you aren't in as much pain as you were in.

Hope you had a nice holiday.

Glad that the wound is healing.  Hopefully you can go back to the Percocet soon.

I go in next week for a second opinion.  (It took a while to get in.)  Fortunately, the episodes of pain are not as frequent as they were for a while (but the pain is just as bad when it does come along).

Take care.

I just recalled why I don't like cookies and I wish I had read this post 20 min ago.  My daughter just took chocolate cookies out of the oven (the best when hot).  I ate one (should have just had a bite).  Within 10 min I have already gone to the bathroom and my tummy is not feeling so well.  At least the pouch does let me know when it doesn't like what I just did to it

Do you bake?  There are lots of recipes on the net for low carb, sugar free cookies or regular ones that are easily modified.

I whipped up a batch of chocolate/coconut, coconut flour protein cookies this morning to put in the freezer for when I need a chocolate fix.  I prefer them to many of the protein bars.
