I want a cookie.

Between the job change and the upcoming "anniversary" of my assault (next week) and normal life stuff, I am VERY stressed out.  After hearing about my therapist retiring in a few months, I am VERY sad.. and a little scared of what happens when the PTSD flares up and she is not there to help.  The strawberry ice cream is gone (and -- pat on the back -- I did not buy any more at the grocery today even though I really wanted to... I did not even go near that aisle), but...  now I WANT A COOKIE.  There is a whole sleeve of Thin Mints "hidden" in the freezer.  I had two RF Nilla Wafers.  Not the same.

I WANT ICE CREAM...  AND I WANT THE COOKIES.... and I am still sad to find that %^$#& demon still lurking inside my head.  After over 3 years, I thought it was gone.  Nope.

Just needed to vent.  Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Oh, I'm sorry about your therapist.  Mine retired about a year and a half ago and I still haven't found one I really like.  He was so, so good.

Can you eat just one cookie?  That's probably what I would do but I can eat cookies in moderation.  I'd have to stay away from the cheezits though and those pretzel/cracker things.

My willpower with cookies is VERY limited... like Cheezits for you.  I'm just afraid to repeat Thursday night's ice cream incident.

I opted to have some strawberries with Lite Cool Whip... and I made some SF black cherry jello "parfaits" with some layers of the jello mixed with some layers of jello and Cool Whip mixture to have for dessert tonight.

It can be hard to find a good therapist.  Even being aware (professionally) of many of the area therapists who have good reputations and are active in the various counbsleing associations (sort fo some "inside" info, if you will), it is difficult to find a quality one that you "click" with and who has a theoretical approach that is compatible with my personality and views.  I tried 3 others (and worked with one for almost a year despite a number of issues/confluct that should have had me finding a new one within the first couple of months of seeing her) before I found this one.

How about a protein bar?  Some are almost like candy bars.

Good idea, Kelly!  I do still have a couple of the Oh Yeah!  "Snickers wannabe" bars in the pantry...

I just bought an Oh Yeah! chocolate mint bar today.  I haven't tried it yet though.

They aren't to bad, but you could make worse choices.

At least you have identified you work spots and know what to do when challenged.  You help set the example of what others should do when faced with tough challenges.  Keep up the awesome work.

*hugs*

Today my "skinny jeans" didn't fit. I'm only up four pounds from minimum, three pounds from when the jeans fit, but they don't fit.

All that eating out of boredom while home.

Durn it!

Bit of a revelation as to how much food I could pack away if I didn't have anything better to do. Those food demons refuse to be exorcised. We must, therefore, recognize them, and in so doing, remove some of their power.

Lora,

My head demons haven't gone anywhere either but I find that when they start taunting me to eat a cookie...I eat a cookie. And when they figure out that what they wanted wasn't really a cookie they get pissed and go away

I think it might be because I eat protein cookies. I imagine that ticks them off as well.

LOL.  I'd be ticked off  and leave if I was expecting a real cookie and got a protein cookie, too!

And yes, deep down, it isn't really the COOKIE that I want, of course...
