Someone please explain the anti-Splenda sentiment to me...

Yeah see THAT I get. It doesn't make me feel well or I just don't like the way it tastes.

But I see people here AND in real life who have no other problems with Splenda than, what seem to me, shoddy scientific reasons. So I thought maybe I was missing something or my logic was off.

well with THOSE people I would let it go- and think something along the lines of

Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason

or

People are the way they are

or

You can't reason with a crazy person lol

My grandma is a great example of someone like this. She gets stuck on ONE thing and can't let it go not matter what else she gets told. My mother too for that matter- Maybe I'll be next

Evil unnatural Splenda!
lol

Oh you mean like how my grandma won't talk on the phone when it's raining? (I get not wanting to talk during thunder and lightning but she is honestly petrified she'll get electrocuted if she talks on the phone while it is raining).

Yeah...I just see it so much that I thought maybe there was something I didn't know.

I haven't figured out the big deal either yet Nik.

It makes hubby sick and gives him a headache. I don't even notice it when I have it.

But remember when Nutrasweet first came out? There were the same horror stories. Probably still are.

Thinking it's just one of those things everyone has to make a personal decision on, because in reality SOMETHING IS going to eventually kill you. Somehow I doubt it will be Splenda. But, people die from all sorts of healthy behaviours (thinking about the guy who dropped dead recently while jogging-). What do you do? Can't live in a bubble.

Good luck in your Splenda research.

You're bubble is gonna be icky lol

Better have lots of disinfectant for your key board and mouse and the cats can have all kinds of gross things

My bubble would include my cats too and dog but just saying its not a very hypo allergenic bubble lol

What fun is a hypoallergenic bubble anyway??

Jeeze, if I can't have my furry critters (who are on house arrest for six months due to bringing home a dead bat)...then I won't want a bubble.

I've been wondering the same thing for awhile too. Just the other day in one of my classes one of the girls and my professor both loudly dissed it. The girl even said a scientific experiment compared "the brain on splenda" to "the brain on crack". Uhm.. I dont think I could ever believe that
