I'm 6 months out and am still freezing the vast majority of the time, I notice is most in my hands and feet. One of my best friends is 7 years out and is still cold frequently as well. She said it's just something you learn to deal with and it's great to save on your heating bill. It improved for me slightly, but I'm still cold.

We are losing insulation ladies, that is what I was told.  Coming from a 236 lb person who not only has hot flashes but had extra padding, I am freezing all the time too.  I live inland in California where it's hot and Im still wearing flannel jammies every night where my husband is kicking off covers.

I'm 2 years out in NE Indiana.  Still using electric blanket all night.  I have sleeveless "cuddle duds" under my long sleeve top and 2 pr socks today (top pair are hand knit wool.)  I also have a wool shawl draped over shoulders and arms.

I'm not freezing, but I need sources of warmth to be comfortable.  I use a heating pad to my back and a heated blanket on my lap at home in the evenings.

I think it is individual, but when I was morbidly obese it was short sleeves and sandals in the house.

I'd rather be too cold than too hot.  That's just me.

me too! as i type i have on a sweater over my shirt & my heated blanket - best investment I made this past winter! I was cold before but now I am FREEZING! especially my hands & feet! My dh always runs warm so we were in van last night & i was driving & freezing (with my winter jacket on) so i cranked up the heat! He was like what are you doing! it's 50 outside & your acting like its below zero lol! but that is how i felt! couldn't wait to get home to my beloved blanket!!   I am very interested to see how it's going to be this summer! But the dh is going to crank on the ac

Pre-surgery I was always too warm, and often to the point of sweating.  Post surgery now about 7 weeks and I am cold most of the time, especially my feet.  For the first time in years I am able to stand to wear a sweatshirt, and my bed actually has more than a very thin quilt on it.  I often sleep in sweats, something I could not have done before surgery.  I live in Oregon so it's cool here, plus I live in an older manufactured home that I renovated...obviously I should have added more insulation, too, lol.  Not sure that would have made a difference though  I have ac in the master bedroom to give me a cool area in the house for summer, but right now the thought of that makes me even colder, lol.

Welcome to the world of long johns, sweats and blankets.  Since I started my 2 week pre-op I noticed I coudln't keep warm and 1 1/2 months out I'm still that way.  Even with the hot flashes I no longer sweat, just get that flushing warm feeling and then it's gone.

I'm really surprised that no one else said this, but being cold is a symptom of ketosis. If you are eating a high protein diet and less than 50 gms of carbs per day, you may be in ketosis. In ketosis ( the basis of the Atkin's diet),your urine will smell different, your breath will smell different, you'll burn fat quickly, and you may be cold all the time. As you add more carbs to your diet, you'll move out of ketosis and probably warm up.

As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we will walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over again the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives. -- Thoreau
