Freezing
Ok so I am the sort of person that NEVER wears a coat, always has on flip flops even in the middle of a snow storm. BUt Since surgery I have been freezing! I can't get warm (without my ho****er bottle). Is this how it is always gonna be? My sister is laughing at me cause I am dressed like I am in zero degree temps.

A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water. Eleanor Roosevelt
I live up here in washington state and spent 6 years in texas and from the south all my life. I always have air on and rarely use heat no matter where I live. Even being up here, I had not used heat really yet, but now?????? YES I FREEZE TOO!!I spend more time in a hot bath trying to warm up than anything else..I hope it gets better..........
I don't think it gets better. My OB/GYN had the procedure 6 years ago and says he is still constantly cold. My sister is 5 years out is the same way. My surgeon said the best we can do is make sure we are rebuilding muscle because that can help a bit. I keed an extra sweater or jacket in my office and my car.
I'm a year and a half out and still freeze especially during colder weather. On the plus side I LOVE summer because I never feel as hot as I used to but actually feel warm (as compared to freezing all fall/winter/early spring).

I don't feeze but I am certainly not as warm as I used to be. I wear a scrub jacket at work a lot and I don't leave the house without long sleeves. It is a change but not an unwelcome one. I am anxious to see how summer is and if I will sweat the way I used to. I hope not. I still love my heated mattress pad and my three quilts.
This is another example of everyone is different. I am 5 months post op and just the past couple weeks went down to only one sweater OR long sleeves not both. I actually have some days I don't need either. House could be 80 and I was cold. Its not the loss of insulation causing it because I was colder at 380 then I was at 300. It is the changing of you metabolism that is causing it. Also the faster the weight drops the colder you can get because of a metabolism in over drive. The friends I have that are at goal (one 5 years out and one 9 months) said that the closer they got to a normal body weight the more normal their body temp. Since I got under 300 I been having relief from the cold problem.
