What AREN'T you eating today?
What aren't you eating today? You'll be surprised at how good you'll feel about yourself after going through this exercise because for as much as we THINK we eat and as poorly as we THINK we eat sometimes...for many of us it's a world better than where we started!
So what aren't you eating today? Extra points to any brave souls who attempt to calculate the stats too.

Urgh. Hate it when the boards act wonky.

Ok call me crazy…but I honestly don’t remember much about my day to day life before surgery. I’m good at putting things I don’t want to think about out of my mind like that. My therapist and I agree that I have almost all the characteristics of a sociopath, that being one of them J.
I do remember some favorites I had but am not sure how frequently I ate them.
Breakfast:
On a weekday I was likely to have one of a few different things:
- A BIG bowl of Raisin Bran drenched in sugar and mil****il it became soggy (LOOOOOVE soggy Raisin Bran…well…loved)
- A breakfast sandwich from the local carry-out (white toast, butter, fried egg, bacon)
- Grits with fried egg, bacon crumbles, cheese, butter, salt, pepper and a bit of bacon grease stirred in.
Lunch: I typically bought my lunch and would either have curried chicken with veggies and white rice from the Chinese place, the drunken noodles at the Thai place or a sushi lunch special (I work in a very multi-cultural neighborhood)
Snacks: I didn’t pay attention to snacks before surgery. I ate them and they were likely to be whatever was being passed around at work. Maybe a candy bar from the vending machine. Definitely a few Pepsi’s in there.
Dinner: I NEVER cooked from scratch before surgery (can you believe that). So it was likely to be pizza or something frozen that I heated up.
Dessert: Before surgery, dessert wasn’t really a defined meal. Rather I ate sweets whenever I wanted them. I was partial to chocolate and ice cream.

Today I will NOT be eating A Ham, Egg, & Cheese bagel from McDonalds for breakfast. That was my absolute favorite! And for only $3 it wasn't a bad deal on the wallet.
For lunch I will NOT be eating a slice of Buffalo chicken wing pizza from my local slice shop. Or my "on the cheap" favorite Wendys meal, a Crispy chicken sandwich, fries, and a soda.
And for dinner I will NOT be eating Pasta, anything with Pasta is a weakness!
I WON'T BE HAVING A LARGE THIN CRUST PIZZA WITH EXTRA SAUSAGE AND CHEESE, I WON'T BE HAVING HAROLD'S FRIED CHICKEN & FRIES WITH MILD SAUCE, I WON'T BE HAVING A DOUBLE QUARTER POUNDER FROM MICKEY D'S!!!!
I'M ONLY PRE-OP BUT THIS IS SO DARN HARD! I WANT TO CRY!
For the long term, I won't be having
B - McDonald's steak egg & cheese bagel on random occasions, homefries, toast in mass quantities, bagels.
L - fast food, Chipotle, pizza, chips
D - pasta, pizza, cheesesteaks, more pasta
Snacks: cookies, crackers, chips, tortilla chips, pretzels, bread & more bread....
I am a recovering carboholic, so I know that some can incorporate foods above in moderation but I gotta go sober.....
