Hi.. I would like to know the progress of anyone who had surgery 02/07/11, also would like to know how your feeling and how life has changed. Some days are better than others for me, and frustration seems to creep in.

HI. I had surgery on 2/7/11.  I have had my up and down days. I have lost 50 lbs so far. I need to excersie more . I am just getting to the point of getting all of my vitamins in each day. I am drinking a lot more and I am just taking it one day at a time.

Im happy to hear that I seem to be on track with others with a surgery date the same as mine. I have lost almost 50 pounds, 47 to be exact. I have a hard time getting my protein in. My NUT says that I should be getting most of it in by food these days, but I have no desire to eat. I am just waiting for the day I wake up and all my hair is on my pillow! Everything I eat is protein but I am not eating very much. Protein shakes are evil, apparently I have become lactose intollerant since surgery.

. I  finally found a protien called Visalus. It is wonderful ! it taste like a vanilla milkshake . I gave some to my family and I didn't tell then it was a protien shake. They were shocked they thought it was mil**** cream and fruit. it is amazing . I make my shakes with it and add 1/3 cup of fat free dry milk bevause it makes it creamier and adds more protien, skim mil**** and strawberries. I can mix it in anything and not taste it at all.

Isopure's Zero Carb protein mix is lactose free, mixable with water ( and still palatable) and has a good amino acid profile and entirely whey isolate. Loads of flavors to try out. I love the cookies and cream, and the Banana cream

Hi, I was suppose to have surgery on the 7th of Feb. was knocked to the next day of the 8th. I have lost 41 lbs to date. I can tolerate alot of foods, minus bread that is. As far as how life has changed for me so far is...I have tons more energy, starting to become more active than i have been I years. Right now the most frustrating part is getting use to taking all the vitamins etc(yuk)

Oh yeah, dreading the whole hair falling out thing, i'm sure it's gonna happen soon for me.

I had surgery on 2-7-11. I am not as sleepy all day as I used to be. I can breathe better and walk further without getting tired. I have occassional bouts with 'the burps', but nothing that lasts very long. Some days I can eat more than others. Taking my vitamins is not a problem and drinking the protein drinks (Chocolate Truffle with a touch of PB2 - powdered peanut butter) makes me feel good inside. I can handle most foods, but haven't tried bread, unless toasted, pasta and uncooked veggies. I did eat a chocolate chip cookie one time and was nauseated all night but never threw up. I have decided eating sugar is not worth the discomfort at this point.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
