Pounds Per Week

In the first couple of months, what is the average weight loss per week?  I am trying very hard to ensure that i'm maximizing my optimal window of weight loss.  Not sure if i'm on target or if I need to ramp up exercise, protein, water, etc.
I've done some research on what to expect 3 months post op and I found a post that states that by month 3 one should have lost 50% of their excess weight.  Is this correct?
I KNOW that every one is different but I need a gauge to bear in mind.

Thanks in advance to any and all feedback!

I had heard the 1st 6 mos 50% of excess weight.

I went from 305pre-op 288 SW-145 EW, size 28 to 6

I << averaged>>> 12.5# per month.  I only lost 1.5 weeks out of the month.  BUT I lost 150# in a year.

I think we all lose at different rates, it is the end result that matters.

As long as you keep loosing it's alright

Whew!!!  Thanks Pup.  I was wondering if I would even come close to the 50% goal.

150 in a year for you?  AWESOME!!!!  I think the last time I wore a size 6 was at 16 years of age.

I wore a 4/6 at 5'4 and 145#.  Skin and bones.  Sizes are different than they used to be.  My goal was the size 13 jeans I had saved from high school.  (that was heavy then)  They barely fit when I was at my lowest.

Ahhh the 80's

Did you try the weight loss planner on OH? HERE is the link. It was pretty accurate for me. I lost 100 pounds in 24 weeks so for me, I lost an average of 4 pounds a week the first 6 months. Then it slowed down until month 14 when I reached goal.

Laura,

Thanks for the link to the chart.  Pretty close to my results thus far!  This really helps to calm my fears.

Glad it helped!!  It helped me, too, when I was in my losing phase.

I've been losing at a rate of 2.6 lbs per week and I'm a little over 5 months out.
