I know the reason is to prevent vomiting under anesthesia, because if you aspirate it into your lungs, it's very dangerous.
But I would have nothing to vomit in my pouch if I just drank milk a few hours earlier. It was just a printed sheet they give everyone.
I agree with using common sense. I understand how my anatomy is different than most people's. I usually do follow my doc's orders - but I also don't want my blood sugar to be 40 going into this procedure. Good grief, I would not even be able to walk from my car to the hospital, I'd be so dizzy and trembling so much.
