Problems with eating protein
Granted, the last few days I have had a stomach bug, but I have been able to eat. However, the proteins that have been fine before just keep coming back up (steak, shrimp, chicken). I am able to keep down protein shakes, bars, fruit, and as I learned tonight...perogi's. I know, perogi's are a no no...potatoes and pasta. However, it stayed down.
Has anyone experienced this? How is it I can keep down carbs (which I shouldn't eat) and can't keep down protein?

if you have a stomach bug, then your stomach is sensitive..... slider and gentle foods will go down a lot easier than foods that make the stomach work hard....as dense proteins will
I'd stick to simpler foods for a little longer, and aviod the simple carbs (easy but not worth it) and slowly work yourself back up to the more difficult foods.

I chased my dreams, and my dreams, they caught me!
I didn't think about how hard my stomach had to work. So far today I had a protein shake for breakfast (it took me forever to drink...30 mins, which is long for me because my shakes normally go down really easy), a protein bar for lunch, and then tried the chicken for dinner (didn't last) and the one perogi. Between the shake (I use Silk and add a peanut butter powder that adds 5 grams of proein), and the bar I did get in 50 grams of protein even without the chicken.
Crackers always work best for me when my tummy is upset. However, I can usually eat yogurt and protein shakes then, too, so I try to focus on those things. If meat isn't sitting well, I would not worry. Just stick with forms of protein that work for a few days, then try a small amount of meat and see how it works.
ETA: you could also be developing a stricture so if the problem goes on too long or gets worse, I'd call your surgeon.
