Joints?

In the last 30 pounds lost or so my joints have been popping like crazy and have felt really loose.  They have even been sore from popping so much, but on the other hand my ankles WON'T pop and they are sore because of that.  My brother is a chiropractor and told my husband how to safely adjust my ankles, but it isn't working.

Has anyone else been experiencing this, know why it happens?

I have a theory that we use our joints "wrong" when we are heavy....they're designed to a specirfic weight load, and when we go beyond, our joints are used funny...... think about it, fat legs forced further apart than normal people for the "fat person waddle" over years those hip joints are being used day in day out under great pressure in a postiion that is unnatural ....the body adapts and while pain signals probably go out, they're just ignored in the general static of many systems in minor pain.

When we lose the weight, the pressure eases up, and the lesser weight means our legs are closer together, and we walk properly, which means we're using different surfaces of the hip joints, causing pain....because we have worn down the joints in weird places, and our joints aren't used to proper use. My hips got better over time, and other joints would be the same.

I think Lady L is probably right.  I went through a stage a few months after surgery where my joints really hurt.  I've already forgotten about that.  Everything got much better sometime later (I can't tell you when because I just remembered that they used to hurt and now they don't).

Guess surgery has not improved my memory.

Pain is far more memorable than lack of pain

i too have this problem. i went to my family DR. they took x-rays and every joint was fine. so he gave my some shots. one in the left knee, one in the right hip. the knee did nothing. but the hip worked for maybe a week. so now after a couple of weeks, they still hurt, but not as much..quess we will have to deal with this.. hopefully not for ever.                 krista

My joints are very achy right now- especially my legs and hips- where my legs go into the sockets. But, if you're getting popping/slipping, I would suggest going to see an Orthopedic doctor to get it checked out.

I was told it is because our gait is different after losing the weight.

My knees are constantly popping out (they are bad)  since losing weight.
