Nonscale wow moments this weekend! And a WTF did you just say to me?!?!?!
One of my continuing strangenesses of life is to look down, see my belly skin, my navel, my pubic region, my FEET.. I couldn't see any of those for most of my life (big boobs got in the way)
As to the comment of the co-worker, I agree with what another said.... ignorance abounds. As a teacher your job is to relieve your students of their ignorance..... over tiem you might relieve your coworkers of some of their ignorance too.
Best plan is to not react but to figure out ways to help them see your struggles might be different from theirs.... but they aren't EASIER
In the end though, you can't change the ignorance of everyone.
I'm glad I did not tell my fellow teachers. I told one, who told one other one, but only those two know and understan my situation. The second teacher was having her significant other go through weight loss surgery, which is why the first one directed her my way.
I'm especially grateful for the teacher turnover... not to mention the level of isolationism that we teachers have, that makes it a little less obvious to our coworkers about our changing size.... since I didn't mention my surgery to most of the coworkers.
It's funny, in my case, the teachers and administrators who have known me at my largest and who know me now.... they honestly can't remember how large I was. When they see pictures of me at my largest they're always shocked..... because nobody remembers me that big.

March 9, 2011 - Coccygectomy!
I chased my dreams, and my dreams, they caught me!
You are very right about turnover, but luckly I'm the one that is leaving after this year because of my husband getting orders to another state. The only ones who know are my department (they needed to know why I was going to be gone, and there are only four of them), and my administration. I had to get approval to be gone for over a week.
OMG!!! You should also add "thank you lord for the strength NOT to rip her a new one" LOL
Congrats on the Vajayjay sighting, can't wait to see mine again! LOL
So i guess i should congratulate you on not killing someone, being comfy in both pants and seat and seeing your friend again (LOL)!
Awesome weekend for you!
