So tired...why??
So starting the week after surgery I have had a TON of energy! Going nonstop, going to bed late, waking up refreshed, etc. Then a couple days ago I started yawning all day (including when giving lectures in my classes), can hardly get out of bed in the morning, want to go to bed asap when I get home.
Has this happened to anyone, is this related to the surgery?

I love red meat too! :)
How much water and how many grams of protein are you getting?
What is your average carbohydrate grams per meal? (is it under 12 or less?)
If all that is good, are you exercising some? How is your vitamin D3 and B12? (are you doing the injections?) What is your lab results for Vitamin b12 and D3?
Good luck.
Warmly,
Jackie

Have you checked your blood sugar? Hypoglycemia can be a side effect of WLS. When my blood sugar is low I get very very sleepy. I also have problems with daylight savings time, the one hour of sleep lost hurts me for months!

Another thought is that you've been through a very stressfull process, and just preparing yourself mentally for everything that is going on will take a huge toll... once you get a real handle on teh whole thing, the body says "Crisis over" and then it goes WHUMP and you get all tired, a delayed reaction to all the stress you are under.
I've been fighting for two and a half years to get my ****yx removed, and right after we scheduled the surgery I suddenly was yawning all the time, feelnig tired as anything, just EXACTLY as you describe. But in teh end, I realized it was down to delayed stress reaction, the body responding to the letup in stress.... you don't need all those stress hormones that were keeping you going and you've relaxed and settled in with your WLS, and now your body says, "no more stress? GREAT, let's take a break so we can recuperate from all that stress"
That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it.
