B-12 lab question
I've always done subcu. But was thinking of switching to IM.
I am like Don in that I need tons and tons of D. But I hardly need any iron and I don't even eat meat. It's funny how we absorb stuff differently. My ferritin was 219 last time I had labs done and I had not done that much iron in the last six months because I had been nauseous a lot (not from the iron, just nauseous and didn't like taking a bunch of pills).

The lab ppl laugh at us because when Don and I go together and they print us a copy, we are already comparing D, protein and stuff. Like a coupla 5 yrs olds. LOL
It doesn't compute how he can take less protein but score at the top of the range and I take as much as I can fit in and can barely reach the bottom. In theory, ppl with our WLS can't get it AT ALL. So, there ya go.
Do you know if you had low B12 pre op? Now, we don't have IF now, due to age, WLS or genetics.
There is a test for IF, but I think it's moot because even if you test for it, SO WHAT? Dietary B12 can't mate with it, so it's kinda spendy and lengthy test, like 2 wks.
Some things, who knows? When I have seen my protein level for the last year, it HAS to be a typo. HAS to be. My surgeons would string me from the highest tree if that shiny albumin wasn't sitting right next to it. Whew.

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
Personally, I would increase the injections to weekly for a couple months, then test again.
But if you want to do the sublingual, get the 2500 mcg one and do it every day. In a couple months, test again.
