price of Carbmaster yogurt

I just came from Kroger and I really like the Carbmaster yogurt.  They went and raised the price, at least at my Kroger.  And from 41 cents to 50 cents, which seems like quite a big jump to me.  And then they have the nerve to put this sign in front of it to make it look like it's on sale or something.

It might have changed since yesterday, but here they were 10 for $4.

I think they might have different prices in different areas.

In my neck of the woods (Los Angeles area), they are .59 but usually on sale 10/$5.

The main new story last night on all the major networks was about how food prices are going to be rising very, very quickly and very, very soon.  Maybe they were right???

Be prepaired for "everything" to go up.  Gas prices are up which pushing the goods we purchase up no matter what it is. 

In my opinion, is you like the taste, texture of Carbmaster, it is worth every cent you pay.  I do not see that in my area, but I generally purchase Fage 2%.  Do like the taste/texture of the 0%.  Besides we do need some fat in our diets, I just choose to cut some where else.

I like Greek yogurt too and my favorite brand is Fage.  I tried the Kroger brand Greek but I didn't like it much.  Wasn't as thick and creamy as other brands, which is probably why it's cheaper.

Carbmaster sure is cheaper though and they have good flavors.  I avoid the flavored Greek yogurt because it has too much sugar for me.  The plain is fine and I can do things to it to flavor it but that's more work and sometimes I'm lazy.  So I buy both, depending on my mood.

Is there a Kroger near you?  I think that's the only place that has Carbmaster.

I am in the northeast (upstate NY to be exact), so no Kroger up there.    The Fage I get is the plain, that way I can add what I would like.  But since in the northeast, this is where Chobani is made, Norwich NY.  That is ok in plain of course.  Might they have that in your area?  The texture is not the same as Fage, a bit more creamy.  Cannot do the already flavored things, way too sweet for me.

I've finally found Fage in the area, OMG it's delicious!  It is much creamer than other greek yogurts I've tried.  I wish the Krogers closer to my house carried it.  Definitely more costly than Carbmaster but worth a splurge IMO.

FYI be prepared for dairy prices to rise. My boyfriend is a dairy farmer and things are bad for them. Last year the price they were paid for milk was at a record low and many dairies went out of business, bringing down supply. This year they are getting more but the price of feed has skyrocketed. Corn prices have risen since they are using it in ethanol. Many dairy farmers just can't afford to be in business anymore.

I feel terrible the way this country treats is small farmer, whether for veggie, or dairy.  It seems if you are not in the huge co-ops there are no chances for a life.
