Anywhere to eat out on post op liquid/pureed diet???
Most every restaurant has some sort of soup. I'd stay away from mashed potatoes, that's empty carbs you don't need. Go for a good chicken noodle or vegetable soup. If you're still on liquids just eat the soupy part but if you're on purees/mushies, everything in the soup is soft enough for you to chew.
My anniversary was during that time after my surgery and I called our local applebee's and spoke to their manager. Bless his heart, he said I could come order anything and they would put it in the blender for me. Sounded good till I got there and then I think I just ended up with mashed potatoes or something like that. But so nice that they were willing to do that for me.

I had one woman tell me that while she was on the pureed/soft food diet she went out to eat with her husband and she ordered a chicken breast, mashed potatoes and cooked carrots. She smashed the carrots with her fork and she said the chicken breast was moist so she was able to cut a couple really tiny pieces off and sort of smash them with her fork too. Obviously she only ate a couple tiny bites of everything but she said it worked out great because she was able to smash everything. I would the same would be true at Red Lobster or anywhere with fish. You could flake off some fish and smash a soft vegetable.....I'm new at this, but wouldn't that work? Heather (That question is for people with experience......I have my soft diet coming up in a week and I'd like to know too! lol)
We have a place called Fresh Choice here. They have a variety of soups and salads, some pasta and breads. That might a good choice with some healthy options for both parties. A mexican place would be a decent choice as well because they have refried beans. Yum! Or a BBQ place that has some chili beans. Panara is a bread place that has great soups too.
I went out to eat with husband while I was on the pureed/liquid diet and I just ordered a side of refried beans and they had a little melted cheese on top. He got guacamole dip and I put a tsp of that on my beans and a tsp of sour cream. It was delicious!!
One of the things specified on my list was "soupy" mashed potatoes, and grits. I had grits once at a Waffle House with a slice of cheese on top and asked for them to be thinned with a little ho****er and they were happy to accomodate me.
Good Luck!
