Ritas Italian Ice tasted great until......

Well, I was feeling really good today so out and about I went to do some errands & get my oil changed when I spied a Rita's Italian Ice.

WOO HOO....I love Rita's (well, loved Rita's pre-op).  I had recalled reading on here that they have sugar free ice, and by golly they did.  Only one flavor today of SF....pinapple.  But it was delicious!!
I was in heaven and thought I had found my new "go to" treat.

All was well until I was almost home when it hit me....perhaps you know the feeling?
The "I'm gonna **** my pants now feeling" was upon me like a train barelling down the tracks.

Fortunately I made it home and waddled into the house with my cheeks squeezed and had terrible explosive diarrhea (sorry if that's TMI for those easily grossed out).

Well, I had to look up on the Rita's website to see what the ingredients were that could have caused this horrible reaction....because at Rita's it said on the sign it was sweetened with Splenda.  The website says it is sweetened with sugar alcohols & Splenda.....gosh darn....it must have been the sugar alcohols.

So, next time if I really want a Rita's....I will wear Attends!!!

That truly sucks for you!
I've been eating the Rita's SF for about a week (on post op liquid diet) and have not had any problems. Thankfully! It's the only way I've been able to take my crushed meds.

I've never had the explosive thing cause of the Rita's but I did recently hear a commerical on the radio saying that all their sugar free waterice was now being sweetened with Splenda.  I hope they cut out the sugar alcohol thing because that sh*t (pun intended) is just ridiculous!!!  I LOVE MY RITA'S!
