Kirstie Alley??

I'm a little confused...  I know that taller people are more able to hide their weight more than someone short like myself... but the latest snapshots of Kirstie is apparent that she has gained  a significant amount of weight... but she states that she is at her 'highest  weight ever of 228".   HUH?  I am 5'2"... unfortunately, I weigh 221 and she is 5'8" and looks way bigger than I do.  Do you think she is fudging just a bit?

I appreciate her honesty in disclosing her battles just like the rest of us... It just seems hard to believe that she's only 228.

I hope she can find some resolve to her issues with food like we all have to... she  is a beautiful woman and a great actress.. and hilarious in comedies.

Prior to WLS I was able to acknowledge (to others) that I was fat.  But I would have NEVER told my weight to ANYone.  A few weeks ago I finally broke thru 200 to hit the one's and that was the FIRST time I told ANYone my real weight (and it was two very good girlfriends who are overwieight themselves who seemed shocked once they did the math from what I had said I lost to figure out what I weighed before WLS).  I have thought for a long time that she's fudging her numbers.  Thin or "normal" sized people can probably buy the 228 number because it does sound like alot - but those of us who have been there know better.  My drivers license has said 180 for as long as I can remember - because I was just too embarrassed to use a bigger (and more accurate) number.  No one ever questioned it - I guess it sounded like a big enough number to the lady entering the data.

All that said, I think some of us are able to carry more weight than others and not look it.  I think some of us have "fluffier" fat that others (is that possible), I think some carry more internal fat (probably crammed around our vital organs), and some of us have better muscle tone that makes the weight look different on them.

ETA:
And oh by the way, it won't shock me in the least to one day hear that she's getting WLS - and there will be a media frenzy over that too, with them circling like sharks waiting for her to fail.  Because that's what sells.

Remember that the camera puts on weight.  I don't doubt she's the weight she says she is.

For instance, we have a local news anchorwoman who I see on TV all the time -- she looks like an average size woman, not skinny, not fat, just normal.  I saw her at the theater one day an was utterly amazed --- she was tiny as a toothpick, super super skinny.  So on camera she didn't look that thin and I suspect it's got to do with how the camera adds pounds.

My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!

Hard to say, everyone holds their weight different. I am 5' 5" and the pictures above are me at 360 pounds and 245 pounds.

20 pounds lost during two week pre-op diet.

It was a few years ago (right before she started doing the Jenny Craig commercials), that she went on Oprah and claimed she weighed in at 209.

Um.

No.

Fat people everywhere were turning and saying, "Fatty say WUT?"

I know what 209 looks like.   Right now, at 5'7", I weigh 244, and Kristie Alley has at least 40 pounds on me, probably more.

Last Spring she was back on Oprah, saying she had lost 20 lbs. in the previous month and that Oprah would have to "wait and see" how she did it. Her plan was to lse the excess weight by November and roll out her own weight loss program. At that point, she had been dropped by Jenni Craig.

Well,, I guess that didn't work out too well.

I'm not a Kirstie fan, so I'll leave it at that.
