Benefiber vs Metamucil

I have been adding 1 Tsp of Metamucil to a liquid during the day to increase fiber. (trying to maintain regularity)  But it's another 20 calories.  Has anyone also tried Benefiber?  What do you think?

I am having the same problem as you and Benefiber was no help to me.  I am taking colage and so far not much better, I have increased my water to 100 ounces and hoping that helps.  So far I have not found anything that has worked.    I am anxiously awaiting other responses for suggestions.

I use a combo of Colace 100 mg twice a day and Benefiber Powder 2 Tsp 3 times a day ( I mix it in my water bottle or coffee/tea), as per my Dr. So far it just about works to keep me regular, but it took a week or two to become consistent.

I'm using benefiber per nut's advice but I use 2 tsp 3 times a day adding 45 calories a day. but that and 3 stool softeners at night has solved my problem.

I went to the websites for each product and retrieved the nutritional information. Then I did some math, using enough servings to make the number of carbs equal.
Here's what I came up with.

Metamucil orange powder    Benefiber orange powder
3tsp                                           8 tsp
cals 60                                      cals 60
carb 15g                                   carb 16g
dietary fiber 9g                        dietary fiber 12g
soluble fiber 6g                      soluble fiber  12g
sodium 15g                             sodium 0g

So for an equivalent number of calories and almost the same number of carbs. Benefiber offers more dietary fiber and twice the soluble fiber as Metamucil. And Benefiber has no sodium for those with hypertension or other sodium issues.

It looks like I'll be switching to Benefiber.
