Hi everyone,

My surgery date in Nov 17 - I live on Long Island.  Excited, nervous, excited, nervous, excited nervous...get the idea???

I have my pre-op on the 6th and then will do the shopping, etc.  My 13 year old daughter has been so supportive as has my 11 year old son (he just wants me to be able to play soccer with him!!).  I think my husband is getting a little nervous too which is not helping !

I can use all the support I can get....bring it on!

I'm currently doing my required 6 weeks of optifast and boy oh boy does that suck. Never thought I would look forward to the clear liquids to come following surgery, but in comparison to this optifast crap, I CAN'T WAIT!!

I came in to this thread late.  But I am scheduled for RNY Nov 17th.  All testing is done.  I start liquids on Nov 7th and I am having a filter put in on Nov 11th ( depends on your Dr).  If I let my mind wonder then I get worried.  I have been trying to talk to several local Post-Ops and think postive.  Clearing a few spring/summer things from my closet helped remind me that I was going to be smaller next Summer and much healthier!

Hey everyone! I'm so excited for all of you. My date is Monday Nov. 9th. I feel like just yesterday I began counting down from a month and now I am down to just 4 days left after today. I am already getting so excited that it is affecting my sleep. My sister had her surgery 10-19 and has done extremely well with hers. Which gives me a lot  hope and makes me even more excited. I had my preop appointment with the bariatric nurse yesterday, she weighed me, took my measurements, took my pic, and I signed all of my surgery consent forms. Tomorrow morning I go for my preop appointment with the preop nurse  at the hospital and will speak with the anesthesiologist. By sunday I will be a wreck lol. I'm not only excited but also a bit nervous....it is actually going to happen! This is so major and I know I've made the right decision. I just can't wait! I begin my 3-day liquid diet Friday morning. I dread it!
