Today I am off of work! Why? No good reason, which is the best reason!

I am going to go and do my laundry (no washer/dryer so off to the laundromat with me), then I'm going to go to the gym and do a good, hard cardio session. After that I'll come home, fold clothes then it's off to church dinner. Tomorrow is back to life. SIgh...

Eats:

Pre-B: obligatory PB nosh, 1 oz. Fiber One twigs
B: Purple protein shake (this was really good...will post about it in a minute)
L: Some chicken salad on a Flatout wrap, jicama sticks
S: Rice cake w/ peanut butter
D: whatever the old ladies feed me
LNS: the chocolate PB protein pop that I STILL did not have (I have a tendency to forget dessert)

The other day I had a "discussion" with my BFF which left me feeling like the friendship was coming to an end.  Conversations in the past few days hasn't seemed to turn things around much.  I'm terribly sad and not sure what to do to save a 15 year friendship.  It's weighing on my heart today.

Today's Eats:

Commute -- protein chai tea
Arrive at work -- fake latte
Breakfast -- oatmeal w/ blueberries
Lunch -- McDonald's Salad
Snack -- grapes & cheese
Dinner -- leftover steak w/ veggies
LNS -- raspberry yogurt popsicle

Need to find something to keep me awake in the afternoons...  (kind of fell asleep at a stop sign driving home yesterday - not good).  maybe gum??

Here's today's plan:

B - 1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese
S - 0% fage w/Fiber One
L - PK's meat crust pizza & some carrot sticks
S - peanut butter cookie protein ice cream (wonder if this puts me to sleep?? it's about half an hour after eating this that I drive home...)
D - yum!  made the best dinner last night - think I'll have it again...  sautee 3oz shrimp, onion, & red peppers, add in just a touch of marinara sauce, and put it all in a mission low carb tortilla - huge and delicious!
S - Shari's huge frosty - w/banana nut protein powder

I fall asleep while driving home, too. But in my case it's usually because by 3pm, I have only had about 3-400 calories. This year, I'm adding an afternoon snack BEFORE I leave work.

Can't really say that that's my problem - typically have 600-700 cals in by then...  But I am thinking that either drinking something or chewing gum might help keep me up.  Or talking on the phone -but that doesn't really help my driving...   ;)

Pre workout: Fiber one yogurt & 1/2 banana

Post workout: Nectar Protein shake & 1/2 banana

L: Tuna, Pickles, and 3 WW Ritz crackers

S: 1/2 Protein bar

D:  ??? Hubby is still gone. Probably Shrimp wonton soup or a lean cuisine.

LNS: 1/2 Protein bar

Around 800 calories... I need to up my protein, so I might have to throw in an extra shake at some point, putting me at 890ish. With an added shake, I'd hit 80 or so grams of protein.

I need some variety... I think I'm going to head to the store today and get some shrimp and salad... or something. It is really HOT here, so I guess it just depends on what I can get accomplished with the kiddos.

I gotta get out of this chair today. My butt's growing roots.

I did walk 3 miles yesterday, but walking only gets me so far. Today I am going to try cleaning, being active, maybe wrestle with Jane Fonda, dunno. My left arm just isn't getting better so I will be talking with my PS today and seeing if we can figure this out via Intenetz.

I got a big ol' Netrition order yesterday-- so I am having a lot of new stuff today-- it's New Stuff Wednesday! I'll put the stats next to the new stuff. Always trying to get more bang for my nutritional buck-- I eat a lot of macronutrient dense food! I'll let you know tonight what's good, what's ehhh.

61g of fiber??? Holy Cow Dung Batman!

Yes, I am again going to be the poo starter on this thread.

You have to tell me...are you really, really regular? No? How's it working out for ya?

I find that I go through these patches of constipation. Then I throw oodles of fat down the hatch and that straightens it out for a bit.

I have prodigious pooz. Huge easy pooz. I love pooz! DAILY pooz!

Here's what's working:

1) Prescription Amitiza-- 2x a day. Because my poo issue isn't just RNY related-- I have a motility issue. What I mean is (graphic here) I don't get constipated 'at the opening" anymore-- it never even gets down that far-- my intestines are weak after that damn bowel repair and need a jumpstart.

2) Caffeine! I cut it out completely over two years ago-- my gastro told me to put it back! One cup of real tea (black tea-- caffeinated) in the AM with my Amitiza, and most days stuff's moving by 10am. Coffee'd be even better but I don't drink coffee. In any case, it's science-- caffeine has an excitant effect on the bowel as well, and that irritation gets stuff goin'.

3) FIBAH!

4) If for some reason I go 48 without a poo, I use suppositories. Backed up poo gives me (you will laugh) WICKED headaches and I feel really ill. My body's just too small now to hold that much mess in me.

Fat'll blow you out too... but for me that means more calories and as you know, I am a cal miser. The fiber seems the healthiest and most effective route to a good cleanout, but you gotta keep the fluids up or you end up making things much worse.
