Toast, crackers and peanut butter?

When did you start eating a bit of toast, crackers and peanut butter?

I haven't had any of that yet, but it's all sounding good.  I guess there's a special kind of peanut butter to get, right?

I'd like to have half a piece of toast (whole wheat?) with a bit of peanut butter for breakfast sometime, but I'm probably too early for that.

This is a little off topic, but I found a GREAT peanut butter at the health food store the other day.

It's called Better'N'peanut butter. 2Tbsp has 100 calories and 2g fat (20 calories from fat)  And it tastes GREAT!  It's a little thinner than reg peanut butter and it needs refrigeration.

Peanut butter is peanut butter, though most national brands (Skippy, Jif, etc.) contain quite a bit of sugar, too.  Peanuts freshly ground at the store have the advantage of not containing unwanted additives.  Unfortunately, there's no getting away from the fact that most of PB's calories come from peanut oil: a tablespoon of PB might as well be a tablespoon of butter or vegetable oil.  If you're someone who can resist overindulging, go for it.  I keep it out of the house; it might as well be crack cocaine for all I could resist it!

Peanut butter on a spoon was my best friend when I moved to the soft stage. I don't do toast but maybe once a week if that.(bread is the DEBIL)

I get PB2 regular and chocolate...they are powdered and when you mix it with water it gets a pb like consistency.  I love it.  I order mine directly from http://www.bellplantation.com  You can mix it in your protein shakes or use it like Peanut butter....

Another opportunity to mention my opinion of bread..it's just a delivery system for the stuff you want, and who eats the box the christmas goodies come in?

That being said, 100% whole wheat bread has it's place and whole grain crackers with alot of fiber are good too. I actually count them out and then use low fat peanut butter on them. I haven't reconstituted the PB2 to try that yet but the fat levels in that stuff are awesome...like so close to zero,it's serious stuff..

I tried bread about 6 months out. Didn't like it and so that's where the opinion on bread came from.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

My surgeon has Saltines on the plan at week 2 and whole wheat crackers at week 3.

I say no thanks to the carbs because they're a trigger food for me.  If I can't even make my protein goals on a daily basis, I'm not going to waste my meals and calories on even complex carbs at this point.

I'm scared to try peanut butter because it always stuck in my throat and esophagus and gave me heartburn.  I like all natural peanut butter way better than the hydrogenated sugary stuff.  PB2 is great for mixing into shakes, yogurt and pudding, though.

I ate whole wheat crackers from about 30 days out.  Obviously, watch the serving size.  Peanut Butter has always been a staple for me - good fat and protein!  I do not eat PB2, but I do buy Skippy Natural (Chunky) at the store.  Whole grain bread is also a staple in my diet since about 6 mo out.  I just didnt have much room for it prior to.
