How "flavorless" is the unflavored protein powder?
Can anyone give me their opinion on the "unflavored" protein powders?
I know that everyone has said that you should wait until after surgery to decide which protein drink you will be able to tolerate. But, I am really wondering exactly how flavorless is the unflavored protein? I am going to order some. I am just researching all the brands and trying to decide who to order from.

Every "unflavored" whey isolate protein will have some flavor to it. I've found one generic unflavored whey isolate protein that has a very mild flavor and odor of evaporated milk. It mixes well with hot or cold foods. I often mix it with SF puddings and bring samples to my support groups. "I can only taste the pudding" is the common response when tasted, and that's the point. It's virtually unflavored. It's noted on my profile page, in my blogs and profile story. DAVE

There is unflavored but not tasteless. They all have some taste to them. I have mixed unflavored in with pudding before and milk but everything else seems to take on a milky consistency and taste to me.
Might just be my taste buds.

I've been "tasting" a lot of powders lately to get an idea....and they are not tasteless by any means. To me, unflavored tastes vaguely like popsicle sticks/boogers (you know, how the back of your mouth tastes when you're sick)
I tried the Unjury powders, I think that one was the best of all that I tried. If you want something savory and not sweetie, they have a chicken soup flavor that is surprisingly okay.
They say our tastes change after surgery any how!

I use the Unjury unflavored. It has a slight smell, but takes on the taste of the item you add it to. I like to use it in puddings, fruit juices diluted w/ water, oatmeal and in hot coffee. If you are adding it to something hot - mix with cool water and then gradually stir into the hot- otherwise it will clump.

I like my Unjury unflavored protein powder. It does pretty well mixed in with fruit or chocolate flavoring. I make a warm cocoa with it added to it and it is quite tasty. I prefer to mix up my own flavorings as the flavored proteins seem a bit sweet to me. I also like to chose my own sweetener and using unflavored allows me to do that. It probably does have its own distinct flavour but the smell is very light for me.
