How much sugar in liquid tylenol?

Well, I am to the point where I don't need the liquid Lortab anymore, but I still have some pain. I have children's liquid tylenol (not cleared for larger pills yet), but I am worried about the sugar content. High fructose corn syrup (yuck!) is listed about halfway down the list of inactive ingredients. I tried to find out how much sugar is in it, but Google was not much help. Anyone have any idea whether it's safe for me to take? According to my semi-scientific dosage estimation, I'd have to take 25 mL of the stuff to get an 800 mg dose of acetaminophen.

If not, any suggestions on what type of Tylenol to use until I can swallow pills.

FYI, it's children's acetaminophen from Target if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

You can buy liquid tylenol extra strength, cherry flavor, for adults.  Any pharmacy should have it!  That is what I have used and it is fine for us!!!

Thanks. My mom picked this up for me today since I'm not driving yet, and Target didn't have any adult liquids, so she got what she could. I'll check CVS tomorrow for the adult stuff.

Walmart carries meds designed for people with diabetes that have no suger.  Cough meds, cold meds, etc. including Tylenol.

Be careful, my sister (RYN patient and everyday candy eater) dumped on liquid tylenol.  How it's different from the candy, I don't know.  My advice is to get the sugar-free liquid, which I believe you can find at Wal-Mart.

I noticed that too when I went to the store post-op so I also bought the Tylenol Jr. Meltaways...they didn't have the sugar, sweetened with sucralose I think.  They kinda disolve in your mouth.  You have to take several but not as many as with the younger children's version.  They didn't have the adult liquid, so that was the best I could do at the time and was too tired to keep looking.

As far as I know, ALL liquid tylenol has sugar, and you don't want to chance dumping. I used to crush up tylenol to dust and mix it with some sugar free pudding, or a little bit of protein shake. Doesn't taste good, but it works!
Good luck!!

Look in the adult Tylenol section, maybe that's where the adult liquid is kept. I was looking for it at our wal-mart pharmacy in the children't liquids and thought they didn't carry an adult formula until I turned and found it in the regular Tylenol section.
I still didn't buy it because I too was afraid I might dump on it after reading the ingredients. Some here say they don't dump others do. I might take the chance if I'm really hurting. Haven't had any major problems thus far, thank the Lord.  Maybe now I won't be as afraid to try that when I need to!

I had surgery the day before you and I have taken this adult liquid Tylenol and no problems.  I forgot to look at the sugar content or I probably would've been scared off too.  I have experienced rapid heart beat a couple times after eating, but I don't know if that is considered part of "dumping".  It WAS very uncomfortable.

Call the number on the bottle.  I had Adult tylenol rapid-blast liquid and I found out it had something like 18 grams of sugar.  I was disgusted.  I asked the tylenol people if they made any without sugar and they said no.
