WLS friendly restaurants--let's make a list...
Great idea for a thread! I have to travel a lot and I am not always able to eat food I prepare myself.
I was in NYC this week and found the best food to be at the delis where you can load (or not load) a to-go container with anything from the hot/cold buffet for a per pound price. What a blessing. I could pick out the protein-rich meat pieces and the veggies and such. Perfect! Most of these places carried Fage yogurt, as well.

Cracker Barrell - veggies, beans, breakfasts
Famous Dave's - children's menu is a good one. Meat (roasted chicken, pulled pork or chicken) with one side and lots of sides to choose from that we can eat
Chili from almost anywhere
Applebee's Weigh****chers tilapia - yum and enough for two meals
A chef's salad from almost anywhere - eat as much of the "top stuff"off of it dipped in a bit of low-fat dressing for good protein - easy on the lettuce
Lettuce wraps from PF Chang's

From an oldie, any restaurant will do, most will let you order a kids menu, me I opt now for what I like, eat a little and take the rest to go.
My doctor's goal was for me to be normal and not standout in the crowd anymore, so I don't make a big deal about it, and only those with me know I am "special" lol!

The only one I know of here is the North China Buffet. They'll let post-ops order a toddler plate for $1.99.

Red and I have had lots of great experiences with this since we eat out a lot!
We've split meals everywhere from local seafood joints, IHOP, Waffle House, Teds, Chili's, Zacksby's, Red Lobster, local Bar-B-Que places to the casino restaurants in Vegas. With the tight economy restaurants are seeing a lot of meal splitting bariatric surgery or not. Only place we were ever charged for the meal splitting was at the Cafe at Harrah's in Vegas. Only $2 and they served some huge omelets that could be split between pre-ops!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
I do know that most kids menus suck, but a couple that seem to have some pretty good offerings is Olive Garden and Bob Evans. I have kids so it really won't draw all that much attention for me to order it, but I don't really have a hang up about telling someone the deal either because I don't care if they know.
Kids Menu offerings:
Olive Garden has a grilled chicken breast with veggie side. I've heard Olive Garden can be tough, but if you find yourself at a gathering there it might be an option.
Bob Evans has an awesome turkey dinner with two sides for which you can choose veggies and fresh fruit. They also have grilled chicken tenders with sides. And they are cheap too, like under 3 bucks as opposed to some places where the kids meals are 6 and 7. Of course the kids breakfasts offer scrambled eggs with meat side.
Just a couple that popped into my head.
Keep 'em coming.

Good to know. We just got a cracker barrel on the route to my brothers house so I'm sure that will become a place we hit.
Thanks!
