Blech, Dumping. How do YOU dump?

I am, this very moment, dumping after having eaten half a bag of Trader Joe's cheese crunchies.  My heart rate, normally a balmy 62 bmp, is right now racing at 108 (and it was higher a few minutes ago).  (Actually, in the time it took me to write this little post, my heart rate has come down to 92, but that's still pretty high.)

I'm pretty pissed off at myself -- I was just eating because of anxiety -- though I'm cir****pect, because pre WLS I would have eaten the whole damned bag, and I really need the dumping to provide "punishment" for when I go profoundly off the wagon.

But people report such a wide variety of symptoms that it's a curiosity.

If you dump, what are your symptoms?

Like you, my heart rate goes through the roof. I feel sort of like, bubbles running up my esophogus, its like a burp but grosser. I also get light headed and dizzy, not fun.

My most common dumping symptom is accelerated heart rate. I have underactive sweat glands, so don't know if I would normal get all sweaty. My worst dumping experience was when I had the flu and felt awful already, then I had some tomato soup and neglected to read the label. It had 24 g of sugar. I felt truly awful, accelerated heartbeat, and just overall super-lousiness like I could never have imagined. Not knowing the sugar content of the soup, I just thought I was sicker than I knew.... but then I read the label and realized what my problem was. I have never felt so "feel like I'm gonna die" awful.. but then I read labels more carefully and I try to always be aware of my self so that anything that bothers me is put down before it can make me feel awful. Thus most times I dump (and I dump way too often) I don't have long lasting symptoms.

Lithia -- you're looking amazingly great!

Do your students notice anything?  I'm sure they do, but do they say anything?

No one knows about the surgery, but I'm sipping protein shakes in class all the time. The kids know I'm on a diet (excuse for the protein shakes) and make routine comments "Mrs. K, you need to buy new pants, those are too big" or "Mrs. K, you're lookin good" (that second comment only from the girl students). I'm constantly amazed when I look in the mirror because I see this "thin" woman who does not match what I expect to see. I'm now 14 pounds lighter than the lightest I"ve been since I was 15 years old. IT's absolutely incredible.

Um dumping for me is dizziness, heart racing and then puking + diarrhea at the same time (holding trash can in front of face on the toilet).  I dont recover for 2-4 hrs.

Honestly, Crystal, I would have given anything at the time to have been able to vomit up what I had just done to myself!  Ugh!

Dumping for me is a racing heart, sweaty palms, disoriented feeling - like i've been drugged, nausea. All I want to do is sleep. Recently referred to as "carb coma".
One time I was out for 10 hours straight! No repeats for me.

The first time, honestly, if I had not KNOWN what I had done....I would have thought I was having a heart attack.  My heart rate went up to about 150-160 along with some tightness.  Dizzy, some nausea and I broke out in a cold sweat.

I have done that only twice and have NO PLAN of repeating it any time in the near future.
