Accepted Medications

Is there a quick cheat sheet available that lists medications that are "safe" to use for RNY patients?

I have a raging sinus infection and sore throat, and my general physician called in a script for me for antibiotics - Augmentin/Amoxicillin.  I'm unsure if it is safe to take.

My GP know that I've had RNY surgery, but I'm not certain if she remembered it when she called in my script to the pharmacy.....and I was neglectful and didn't remind her.

So.....is Augmentin/Amoxicillin safe to take?  I'm almost 9 months out, for what it's worth.

Thanks!

You could call the pharmacy and ask.  They should know.

Good luck-----sinus infections hurt.

I have 2 since my surgery (sinus infections) and I've used Avelox prescription once daily for 10 days without any problems.

Good luck!

Most antibiotics are "safe" for post-op RNYers; this would include augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate).
