xp - Post-op insurance frustration

I used to work for county govt. but my current insurance is through my (ex-) husband's employer.  They are self-insured (they pay their own claims) and use UHC for adminstration only.  Becuase of being self-insured the insurance coverage falls under federal law  (ERISA) and therefor complaints, problems, etc. are handled by the dept. of labor rather than the state's insurance department.  When a company buys insurance coverage from an insurance carrier and is not self-insured, then it's a state issue.
