Why I have Chosen RNY

some of you guys are down right mean. man, give her a break. she is a newbie and is just trying to fit in. so what if she is making some mistakes. don't we all.  i am a newbie and was floored when i found out that all veggies were carbs and in not such a nice way i might add.  some people have a hard time expressing themselves. cut her some slack.  that being said, i hope you all have a wonderful journey and and nice, peaceful day.

I completely respect what you're saying BUT did you happen to read her other thread where right off the bat, she started knocking the DS and when people politely tried to inform her that much of the information she was spouting was incorrect, she became irate and down right nasty to them? She had no respect for many people on that other thread so now many feel that she does not deserve any respect herself.

Honestly, she brought this on herself.

I like this, feedback is good...NOW I know I made the right choice. I was bombarded with good and bad info, read it...came up with the same conclusions...I like RNY for Me, DS stinks and any WLS loses effectiveness within 18-24 months...

The fact that I responded to Vickie but yet you felt the need to reply to me and become irate, agitated and nasty yet again is showing that although you try to talk a very good game and claim not to be getting bent out of shape, you by all means most certainly are.

I'm not sure what orifice you pulled your statement out of nor do I care. It makes no sense and has no bearing on anything. But to answer your question and bear in mind I'm only doing this for your research purposes because I don't want to see you make a fool of yourself again with incorrect information - I live my life just fine.....No my WLS does not get me out of the house, I do that on my very own, without crutches mind you and I am not a "fatty" in any way, shape or form. Anyone who uses "fat", "fatty" or any other derogatory term to describe an overweight or previously overweight person in any way not only has the mentality of an 8 year old but is also showing a complete disrespect for a large population of people in this world who suffer with that sort of thing day in and day out from others. They certainly shouldn't have to deal with it from one of their own, yes you fatty.... I hope that when you have your psych evaluation, they're able to get to the root of your issues because if you have this much anger and hostility in you now, you'll be headed on a downward spiral once you have your surgery and you're going to fail miserably..maybe not with your weight loss but you will emotionally fail.

Well, the Best of Luck to You too. I guess I won't be the first or last to fail my RNY. OHHH but what if I am one of those to succeed in the long run, precisely because of this type of interaction. I am getting a true education on what to expect with RNY surgery and that I will have to be mentally, emotinally, and Spiritually tough. And it is engrained in me that WLS IS A TOOL, and I have to work it for Life. Thanks

I take back the nice things I said earlier today!   You still need anger management and you still need to learn about the surgery YOU ARE having!

You are right WLS is a tool.  You are WRONG it is not a tool for 18-24 months, it is a tool for life!

You are "mentally, emotinally, and Spiritually" angry not tough!

As for your opinions, you have the right to them, but damn lady.  Instead of sounding like DS is the devil incarnate, you could tone it down to the DS doesn't sound like the surgery I want, or some such.  

Wishing you a joyeous journey but with your attitude, I don't think that is possible!  You will be the first to scream failure 3 weeks out when you stall and it will be someone elses fault.  Cause you of course know everything!

i am sure that you will be successful as you seem to be very good at being a "TOOL"

ValueFuck knows EXACTLY what it feels like to be judged based on HER appearance. She once was refused employment even though she had all of the qualifications and then some for the job. I've read both this, and your other post about your choice of RNY.  I for one do not want to get into a verbal war with anyone.  You are of course entitled to your opinion, but I'm concerned with some of the "information" you seem to have gathered.  For instance

DS stinks and any WLS loses effectiveness within 18-24 months...

DS does NOT LOSE ITS EFFECTIVENESS within the 18-24 month window.  The malabsortoin portion of the DS is a LIFE LONG byproduct of the surgery. That is why so many people who have had the surgery are excited that they don't have to worry about the window closing on them, completely.  Yes, it will be more difficult to lose a large amount of weight after that window, but many/most are able to at the very least MAINTAIN their weight.  WEIGHT GAIN is possible with the DS, but very few have ever gained all of their excess weight back with this type of surgery.  This is simply not the case for other types of WLS (to the same degree).  That makes the DS surgery very desireable, TO SOME.
