ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH HEAD LICE
My youngest has 'em. Dammit. I just spent 3 hours washing with RID, combing bugs, blah blah blah. Now I'm washing all her stuff in disinfectant and detergent. Scrubbed and debugged her mattress, took away her stuffies, blaaaaaaaaaaaah.
Never had this happen before, ******g nightmare. )(*$@(*@$&@*@

i promise you none of that stuff works lice hate coconut you need to have her sleep with cocunut coonditioner in her hair overnight with a hair cap for about 5 days my sister and brothers family just went through it and they did not want to listen to me well after about 100.00 worth of products they tried the cocunut and it got rid of them. just go buy the suave kind and use it a couple times a week to make sure they do not come back. good luck! if you need asny more advice on that let me know.
One of my kiddos had this a few years ago, very very stubborn, non of the RID stuff worked.
I did some internet research and came up with 2 remedies to try. I'm not sure which one worked, but one of them or both of them together absolutely did the trick.
Make a thick paste using "Ariel" laundry detergent. This is a laundry product from Mexico and you can find it in stores around here -- both large Safeway-type stores and smaller Mexican tiendas. If you can't find Ariel, I bet Tide would work.
Cover your daughters head and hair, root to ends, leave it on a good 30-35 minutes, then rinse it out. This will make her hair quite dry so use a good conditioner.
Remedy 2: cover her head and hair, root to ends, with olive oil. Saturate her good! cover with a produce bag and let it sit a good hour, maybe let her watch her fave movie. Then rinse it all out, using shampoo. You probably won't need conditioner.
This worked like a charm with the stubborn lice AND nits and we've never had the problem again.
Good luck!

I combed before, so I could get his hair ready to lay the stuff on (he has thick hair); then during, to get the stuff all distributed, and then after, to pull out the lice and eggs.

Awe man the poor thing!!!!
I have no advice for you sorry. My daughter had head lice at least once a month when in grade 2. We did everything, but the damn things kept coming back. We did however stop using all chemicals on her. The doctor wasn't impressed with me when I told her how often we had to treat her. I ended up buying her a hair dye and dying her hair. All the little critters died and the eggs just seemed to fall off. She hasn't had another case of lice since.
Man now I am scratching lol....

I'm betting on a reoccurence because her room (she shares with her sister) is a freaking mess. My older one won't let her on her side of the room so I think her stuff is probably ok (ill know after i check HER head tomorrow... and UGH she has super thick hair). But I removed everything from her bed and its immediate area for tonight to wash. There's still crap all over I'm going to have to collect up.

OMG that SUCKS!!!! We haven't had that prob. here yet but I know it will hit us someday. I had lice a couple times as a kid. One time I remember my mom taking me outside on a stool with that stupid comb and the box of RID for HOURS. I had thick long, long hair.
Anyways, I hope the medicine works and like you said, go buy that conditioner and lather the poor child from head to toe.
