How the hell is it I am still a size 14?

It's the same logic that has shrunk my poor boobies substantially and yet I still bust out of a DD cup (but with wrinkly flabbed up skin instead of voluptuous cleavage).

Hey, I just want to say hi to all the women out there who are 5 5 to 5 6 cause I am 5 5.7 now and 164. I have been wearing 12s and some 14s. I even have a 13 whatever that means!

I pick my clothes up at the second hand store.

Girl you are smokin hot so don't worry about them sizes.

I get weirded out too I am 5'8 and weigh 153 and I wear either a 8 or a 10 it makes no sense to me. I am at the point where I just go and if it fits and does not make me look fat then I love it.

Shirts really mess me up cause I love aeropostal and all the shirts I buy are Mediums and the other day some Aero Polo's were on sale for 5 bucks and I swear to god I tried to put it on and I couldn't get it over my head.

I was so mad I threw it in the trash.

I am so much like a little child now when it comes to clothing. I pitch a fit every time i try something on and it does not fit.

It doesn't make much sense.

I'm 5'6", 204 lbs, and can wear 12 jeans.  12 jeans from Target, and they are getting a bit saggy on me.

So WTF?  You should be in a 6 if I'm in a 12.

And even stranger -- I bought a medium top the other day.. and it's too big... What the hell do skinny people *get* from Orvis if I'm in a small shirt?  XXXS?

I get my gym pants from GAP and they are a large ... from the little girl's section.  Vanity sizing is making it so hard to shop!

It's cuz there is no consistant sizing in women's clothing.  I bet you could go to the GAP and get in a smaller size.  I have a few skirts from there size 4 and some jeans from there size 6.  If you go some place like Talbots or other highend mall stores, you would wear a bigger size.  The dress I wore to my daughter's wedding was from Talbots and it's a size 12.  Yup.  You're only one size bigger than me!

ETA oh and I'm 5'6" and weigh more than you!

also ... picture of me in size 12 dress from Talbots ... I'm on the left

That doesn't sound right! When I was 170, I was a size 12, and I am only 5'5.
Are you a 14 across the board, or only with certain brands?

I have one pair of size 12 jeans I can get on with a crowbar, otherwise 14s.

Wait-- lemee clairfy-- I wear 14 petites. For some unknown reason I am suddenly petite.

Actually, I know the reason-- my ass is no longer taking up the slack in regular length pants! :)

I am 5'11" and weigh about 205 lbs ... I wear a size 16 in everything.  The sizes I don't understand are people who are 5'4" tall and weigh about 150 lbs and wear a size 2 (for example).  I think a size 14 is about right ...

I think it is simply a combination of the brand of clothing you are wearing and where you happen to carry most of your excess weight and/or skin.

For example, I was firmly in a size 4 pants at 150 pounds, and am still holding on to a 4 (though loosely) at 138. But, if I didn't have the excess skin on my gut, the plastic surgeon thought I'd be two sizes smaller. If that's the case, I need to gain more weight before I get sliced and diced again...being a size 0 at 5' 6" seems to be an absurd size for me...as well as hard to believe.

In any case, you are doing an amazing job!!! I know you aren't complaining about the size thing as much as making a point. Just know that you should be proud of how well you've done.
