What are you doing/eating today? Wednesday!

Not sure if you are only looking for sweet potato pies, but I have a recipe from bariatriceating.com for sugar free peanut butter pie. It is amazing. The link is on my blog.

Oh, and I cheat and use a store bought graham cracker crust. The tiny amount of pie that I can have doesn't bother me with the crust.

Mmmm...peanut butter pie...

I've been practicing SF Thanksgiving classics...pumpkin, apple, sweet potato.  But I could always use more pie recipes.  I've started to bring pie with me to church dinner on Wednesday night b/c there is a fair amount of people there who can't eat sugar for various reasons and we want dessert too!  Mind you I don't eat dessert most times b/c they serve it too close to dinner and there's no room in the pouch, but I know my other friends appreciate it.

Well, this definately fits the bill!! My family loves it and I swear it tastes WAY more sinful than it really is.

It's so awesome that you can plan your whole day with meals and know exactly how much cals, fat, carbs, and protein you will get.  I have been averaging about 65-85 grams of protein 700-750 cals, 25-30 grams of fat, and 45-50 carbs.  I use thedailyplate.com and put in all my foods and it adds it all up for me.  Today I will probably eat this:

-1 can Slimfast low carb shake
-1/2 C cottage cheese
-1/2 C pinto beans with 1 oz of sharp 2% milk cheddar cheese
-4 oz Dannon Light and Fit low fat low sugar vanilla yogurt
-1 serving of deli sliced meat
-sugar free jello cup

First of all, I want to let Shari know I tried her faux fried rice and it was AWESOME!  I put some peas, water chesnuts, corn, and green onion in mine.  It turned out a little on the wet side, so next time I will probably cut the broth down some.  Otherwise it was great and I even snuck some of it into my dh's stir fry for lunch today (with the brown rice I made for the fam).

Today I have a luncheon to go to, should be fun.  There's a silent auction of giftbaskets going on.  I made one to donate, it's a kids holiday crafting basket.  I put in some sugar cookie mix, icing, cookie cutters, sprinkles, sparkling gels to decorate with.  There's also some hot chocolate mix, candy canes and two puppet craft kits.  I think it turned out cute, hope somebody bids on it!

Today:

B - steel cut oatmeal w/ TVP, light margarine, splenda and skim milk (about 1/2 cup, should have measured it!)
S - light cheese stick
L - the menu is chicken & dumplings, salad, rolls and a dessert, so I'll eat the chicken, veggies and salad.
D - trying Cleo's curried tilapia!  I'm excited about this!
S - should throw a protein shake in here.

Now I need to get on the dailyplate and figure how much this all adds up to.  I hate doing that but I realize it's something I need to get in gear on.

Hey there,

It's a little soon, as I am still preop, but I am ravidly collecting interesting sounding recipes (I am vegetarian, and stressed over the whole protein post-op issue.

Can you share Shari's Faux-rice recipe?  Is Shari = Jupiter?  Should  I ask her?

Thanks!

Hey there,

I am also vegetarian! Can we exchange some recipes? I haven't gotten a date yet for surgery, starting my "new patient" classes this Friday! So glad to see another veg on the boards. =)

Also search Eggface's blog for "No Noodle Manicotti."  I believe that's vegetarian and it looks SO YUMMY!  A lot of her recipes can be converted too.
