Are you serious? At 3 weeks out I was on a liquid diet - and you are able to eat KFC?
Talk to your nutritionist - I cannot believe for one minute he or she would be ok with this!
Did you get a full diet plan for the first 12 weeks or so?

I am guessing you were able to eat VERY little of this KFC bowl ?
Not a good choice and way too much food in volume.

You should of only been able to eat 1/2 C. in volume portion wise.
That would of not been a whole KFC bowl
This is the first I ever heard of those since I dont do KFC.

Next time farther on out better try a KFC wrap with grilled chicken
and no dressing on it. in a pinch if theres nothing else available.
Do they still sell those anyway ?

I dont mean to be rude, but really ~~ why even go through this surgery if only to fall back into poor eating habits?  There is not much success in poor eating choices, and potatoes in any form are horrible ~ even for non-surgery people.

At this stage, I am avoiding fast food, carbs, fats, starches all together.  Instead, high protein, fresh steamed veggies, some cheese (in moderation), thin sliced deli meats, cottage cheese...

I have heard of the steamed califlour and mashing it -- you could use a spray (no cal) butter for taste... that would be much better.

I would call your Dr. and see what he says.  I think mine would tar and feather me!

Good luck,

NO. Its  really not OK. Youre going in the wrong direction!!! Stop, before you hurt yourself, or have had surgery for NOTHING. If you even have to ask this question, you need some serious nutritional counseling. I cant even believe you were cleared for surgery, asking that question at 3 weeks out. Please, I mean that in a concerned way, I am not trying to be sh**tty with you.......I am concerned!!!

Ehhh......don't take it personal. I got my ass reamed out on here by a whole lot of people who were more unpleasant than any of these for eating a tortilla when I was a month or so out. It's just a part of the OHRNY culture.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

Alveta: First of all, take your caps lock off and stop yelling at everyone on the site. It will only make people antagonistic towards you. It's very impolite. Second, instead of slamming everyone, realize that people are (1) in shock that you even asked that question and (2) trying to help you. Anyone has the capability of going on-line to look up nutrition information. This surgery is only a tool. You will be a complete failure if you eat things that are high in fat, high in bad carbs, and nutritionally bad for you. That is just fact. You may lose some weight initially, but you will gain it all back and more. That's just the facts, Ma'am. If you don't like honest answers, the best bet is to not ask the question. You are defensive and rude despite people trying to help you. Clearly, your nutritional education is completely absent and either your doctor's office has taught you nothing, or you haven't take ANY personal responsibility to educate yourself on what to eat after weight loss surgery. I am with everyone else that responded to you with shock and dismay. It is important that anyone undergoing this very serious surgery take the time to educate themselves, do research, and be aware of just how seriously they need to change their eating habits for this surgery to be successful. I really honestly don't believe you thought in any way that this was a food you should be eating, not at a few weeks out and not at years out. I think you are either a "troll," looking to stir up trouble and drama on the board, or you seriously need some counseling before you damage your pouch and your health to the point that you end up hospitalized. I'll sit back now and wait for your attack and more drama. You can call this abuse. It is honesty. You are setting yourself up for complete and total failure. Instead of thanking people for trying to help you and suggest nutritional counseling, you have attacked people for the fact that they were ever heavy as if that is a reason they should "understand" somehow what you are going through. That's ridiculous. Everyone on this board who has had weight loss surgery is trying to get healthy and change their eating habits to get the weight off and keep it off. The type of eating you are doing, and defensively trying to get support for, is an affront to what everyone here is trying to accomplish. That is why you are getting the reaction you are (that and all the defensive "yelling").

And she LOLs at your response.

For someone who has already been back in the hospital once since her surgery, she shouldn't be laughing.  She should be listening.
