THE KFC MASHPOTATO BOWL..IS IT A GOOD THING??
My gut says NO!!! here's a link to the info (31 grams fat, btw), sorry! http://calorielab.com/restaurants/kfc/mashed-potato-bowl/2/3 5585
Mashed potatoes are a high glycemic carbohydrate that does nothing good for you. Nothing!
It has 740 calories (which is more than you should be eating IN A DAY), 35 g of fat-- 9 of which is crappy saturated fat. It has 2350g of sodium (holy salt-lick!) It has EIGHTY carbs! 80! Now it does have 27 g of protein, but I think you could get that in a way that's less-- toxic.

I dont know about the rest of the people on here but I feel absolutely awkard driving through those places now, I dont even do it with my son much, he is eating so much better also. The one thing I did newly post op was the pintos and cheese at Taco Hell but it made like 5 meals for me and help with the constipation. I have tried on the road in a pinch the McDonalds grilled chicken wrap but mostly I get tea at those places. Also I dont do corn anymore at all, just because it is carbs, no protein and does nothing for me, and I think those bowls have corn in them but I dont know for certian. I saw the stats from other posters.

I will agree, No.
Too much fat, and not much nutrition.
Your pouch will like the potatoes, but there is better things to eat!! Probably not at KFC, lol.
If you were stuck in a pinch maybe, but certainly not a special trip for it!!
I am a bit further out, but I find that Jr whopper (guts only) works for me in a pinch.
Best of luck to you,
Diana

It's absolutely not a good choice, for anyone, newly post-o*****t. It's extremely high fat and sodium, not to mention more calories than you should be taking in for a whole day at this point. Not only that, but according to Calorie King, those things are over 1lb per serving. Did you actually eat a whole one? That's 16 ounces of food, which soft or not, could potentially damage your pouch.
I'd also suggest that you ask your surgeon about a referral to a Nutritionist or Dietician, as they would be good resources for you. They can show you how to read food labels and nutritional information so that you can determine what foods will be good choices for you.
