Excedrin Migraine - is it okay for post-op

I stopped on the way into work and bought some Excedrin Migraine for my headache but now I'm wondering if it is safe to take?  Should I have bought the Excedrin Tension Headache that didn't have the aspirin in it?

Please help as my head hurts and thinking about this isn't helping.

No, it's not safe.

Take two tylenol with some coffee.. That's the same as the tension headache stuff.

No excedrin - it is an NSAID i believe. It is on my list of NO NO drugs

Tylonol is better :)

If your migraines are like mine, tylenol doesn't do jack.   I talked with my surgeon about my migraines (sometimes they cause speech loss and other stroke-like symptoms) and he told me no Excedrine Migraine!  I used to mix it with Goody's headache powder.   He did not have a problem writing me another prescription, though.  A new med has come out that he said is really effective.  Call your surgeon and see if he can call something in to your pharmacy if tylenol doesn't help.  Hope you feel better soon!

Dang girl!  If you read the ingredients, Goody's and Exedrin Migraine have the exact same ones. I thought I was bad taking Goody's alone but you've got me beat!

Well, I was able to function better than on some prescription meds with the mixed OTCs.  I was at a teacher's convention and had to take a prescription one and ended up at my table singing to myself and crumbling crackers in my hair.  (My mom had to come and get me... it was special.) I use Unker's alot, too, and it is all natural so I don't worry.  You can use it for almost everything.  I would never make it through allergy season and cold season without it.  Freaking school kids - they give me all their crappy germs!

Yep...nothing like being a teacher to get yourself some good germs!  I do credit it for my usually excellent immune system, though.

I've tried the prescriptions too and though I've never crumbled any crackers, I've made quite a fool of myself a few times.

Right; Excedrin Migraine contains aspirin, acetaminophen and caffeine.  The aspirin is a no-no post-op.  Excedrin Tension Headache contain just acetaminophen and caffeine, but they're otherwise interchangeable.

Both contain 65mg of caffeine in each tablet, so two tablets give you as much caffeine as a cup of coffee.  Caffeine often helps headaches (especially caffeine withdrawal headaches!)

caffeine is on my no list post op, so I don't use meds that include it in the ingredients.
